Job Description

As a Privacy and Data Protection Manager, you will be responsible for designing, implementing and building the data protection and privacy program across EMPG.EMPG owns and operates bespoke classifieds portals in emerging markets, primarily in the MENA, South Asia and Southeast Asia regions. The group?s flagship ventures are Bayut & dubizzle in the UAE. Your role will be to help the EMPG Group?s legal function across the world. However, based on your location, the vast bulk of your responsibilities will be linked to EMPG?s UAE businesses.Key Responsibilities

  • Build an effective data protection and privacy strategy and monitor its implementation across EMPG
  • Establish data protection and privacy policy, procedures and guidelines in accordance with the industry best practices
  • Guide and advise business on data privacy related matters, including but not limited to compliance, governance, policies and procedures as set out for EMPG
  • Complete data privacy impact assessments through consultation with business
  • Interpret the local and international legislative and legal requirements into language that is understandable for business.
  • Ensure the consistent application of policies and standards across all technology projects, systems and services, including, but not limited to, privacy, risk management, compliance, and business continuity management.
  • Identify and document data privacy risks identi?ed in business and assist with managing the risk. Assist with data privacy breaches
  • Create and deliver data privacy awareness and training material
  • Keep up to date with the local and international data privacy developments, laws and regulations
