Job Description

Building strong and trusted relationships is a key part of this role. This role will actively support our projects in the UK and work closely with our UK subject matter experts, this may be through delivering work from our UK locations at times.You?ll enjoy working with others, sometimes directly at client sites, sometimes from our offices. You?ll be client focused ? being able interface with clients, understand their needs and convert opportunities into successful workstreams.As part of the net zero energy business, you will be focussed on the delivery of projects in Clean hydrogen production, storage and use. This work will include:? Strategic advisory? Concept development? Technology assessment and selection? Pre-FEED? FEEDAs a Principal Process Engineer, you will:? Develop and maintain relationships with our clients? Support the development of clean Hydrogen opportunities (including green / blue etc) on behalf of the net zero energy business working with the business leadership to convert these opportunities into productive work. Therefore you can be expected to support with client engagement activities and proposal development? Technically Lead the delivery of complex and technically challenging clean Hydrogen projects across our key markets. This may be in a role of an engineering lead or technical subject matter expert? Provide technical and project support to teams delivering to key Atkins clients? Suppoort a range of projects and the wider business as a subject matter expert.The ever-changing conditions of the industry means we need individuals who can adapt, change and thrive when working in dynamic environments. You?ll be able to engage constructively with multiple stakeholders and support delivery of strategic work initiatives. Through your work you will also help support and shape the development of our future business.Qualifications:? A degree qualification (or equivalent) in Chemical Engineering or a related discipline? Be a Chartered Engineer with a suitable engineering Institution (IChemE, etc.)Essential Criteria:? Expertise in pre, post or oxy-combustion CCS technology? Experience of Carbon Capture technology assessment and selection? Experience of delivering complex projects? Experience across the project lifecycle from concept, through FEED and implementation.? Ability to communicate effectively with internal and external stakeholders? Maintain existing and develop new client relationships? A proven track record of delivering complex technical solutions in challenging timescales.? Track record in winning work in the energy industry.? Ability to build and motivate a team and demonstrate good leadership qualities.? A supportive and encouraging approach to mentoring less experienced members of the team, combined with a passion for staff development? Willingness to travel to clients sites to assist in winning new work and delivering current projects.? Capability to work under tight deadlines while achieving objectives with the ability to deal with competing priorities and manage time appropriatelyDesirable Criteria:? Experience in mentoring junior staff in task delivery? Experience in regulatory and technical due diligence (vendor or buyer side) of transmission and distribution network assets? Experience in business plan submissions for regulated utilities and/or innovation project developments?
