Principal Architect (Design)

Job Description

As part of our regional growth plans, we are currently looking for a Principal Architect (Design Focused) to join the Concept design team in Dubai, UAERequirements

• B.Arch or B.Sc in Architecture.
• Minimum 15 years post qualification experience (with minimum 5 years in UAE)
• Be a registered member of an accredited RIBA or ARB
• Proficiency in: Rhino, Sketchup, 3dmax, Revit, Auto Cad, Photoshop.

• Talent and experienced in Leading the design process during the concept/ Schematic designs stages
• Experience of working in a recognised global/ design offices
• Capable of leading large scale projects in Hospitality, Mixed use, Residential, commercial and High rise.
• Excellent design and technical capabilities
• Strong leadership/ mentoring skills
• Self motivated and able to take responsibility
• Flexible attitude and works well under pressure and meet deadlines efficiently
• Excellent organisational skills
• Able to build good relationships at all levels internally and externally
• Resilient to cope with conflicting demands, able to prioritise duties and work effectively under pressure while remaining calm and professional at all times.
• Ability to understand and formulate design decisions and present for discussion
• Ability to use a variety of media in the development and documentation of a design project

• Developed knowledge of Fire & Life Safety Principles.
• Developed knowledge of Sustainable Design principles.
• Ability and will to mentor and provide support to junior staff members and spread knowledge across the wider architectural community.
• Ability and will to update knowledge.
• Excellent command of English (written and spoken). Arabic language skills / proficiency is an added value.
• Coordinate and lead the assigned team of 6-10 Architects on a day to day basis and ensure that design excellence is achieved throughout.

• Develop a thorough design philosophy, effectively contributing to the inception and the development of a project.
• Lead the design work ensuring project objectives are met, design instructions are implemented and delivery is achieved within the set time and budget.
• Responsible for the correctness, accuracy and complete multi-disciplinary coordination of the design documentation prepared by the assigned team.
• Coordinate and develop responses to review comments, tender queries, contractor?s queries, etc.
• Responsible, for the preparation and compilation of design presentations and design reports.
