Packaging Platform Director

Job Description

The packaging Platform Director is responsible for all aspect of business application and digital platforms, with the highest priority to align technology capability with business strategy. The Packaging platform director has strong experience on platforms specialized on supporting OTA and destination marketplace technologies that offer travel service to the customers such as packaging platform, channel managers and API, and similar ecommerce platforms. The role should have a strong understanding of the travel and tourism industry. The job scope also includes

• Lead the design and delivery of various business applications and digital platforms that are in line with the industry best practices and business needs.
• Responsible for business alignment and prioritization of all projects for Business applications.
• Works with business departments to elicit business and product requirements and capture business needs.
• Clearly articulate and document business requirements.
• Maintain knowledge on all products and services of business and recommend new products to website and recommend enhancements if required and coordinate with various cross functional team to analyze product requirement.
• Collaborate with business units to deliver all releases and prepare work schedule for all projects and provide support to all strategies to achieve all business strategies. Prepare strategies for new products in line with the company business policies.
• Organize various product workshops and design effective strategies and coordinate with various groups to assist in product development process and analyze all business requirements. Assess the risks of various solutions and prioritize business demands.
• Work with Digital and Technology team on application architecture optimization and applications security.
• Lead, train and support application managers and executives in their daily activities as well as supporting other staff engaged in similar activities.
• Determine, recommend and implement software upgrades for applications

• Bachelor degree in or a related field.
• Minimum 8 years? experience working in a leading company within the Service, Tourism and Hospitality Industry
• 3+ years experience in Application Management
• Demonstrated analytical skills
• Strong understanding of business concepts and general business functions
• Experience of Business process improvement aligned to support IT implementations
• Able to approach challenges with a diagnostic approach and to be able to find new solutions to difficult Technology and business problems
• Experience identifying business operational issues and recommending and implementing technical solutions to resolve problems
• Ability to readily learn and adapt to new technologies, industry practices and trends
• Experience leading application team

• Master of Business Administration
• 3 years? experience of Project Management
• Experience of managing Tourism packaging software and applications
• Knowledge on B2B and B2C applications
• Experience of application integration management
• Programming skills
• Experience with data modeling tools, and major DBMS systems
• Design and development integration and reporting services
