Role : Operational Risk ManagerLocation : Abu DhabiRole Purpose:This is a risk management role, directly responsible for developing a center of excellence for Operational Risk Management (ORM) and will assist and coach operational risk stakeholders within the areas of his/her responsibility. The role requires a proactive and confident individual, with 10 years? experience in Operational Risk and banking activities, who can communicate and build strong relationships across the wider business. The holder of this position will be mainly asked to:a) Oversee and ensure the implementation of Operational & Fraud Risk Framework throughout ADIB Departments, ensuring alignment with the enterprise-wide Risk Management strategy, including articulation of the operational risk profile and risk appetite, and enabling improved decision-making that explicitly considers operational risk.b) Monitor the adequacy and strength of the control environment throughout ADIB Departments and recommend management action to ensure the operational risk profile supports the achievement of business objectives and follow-up for implementation.c) Provide guidance to the businesses throughout in the identification of key operational & Fraud risk exposures as well as the implementation of ORM tools within ADIB GroupAct as a subject matter expert and provide leadership on ORM aspects.Key Accountabilities of the role This role includes but is not limited to the following:? Strategy Implementation:1. Support the implementation and rollout of Operational and fraud Risk Framework in ADIB Group including all subsidiaries.2. Support the implementation of fraud and operational risk analytics with insight into key risk areas both on a current basis as well as on a predictive basis.? Program Management:1. Manage the implementation and sustainment of ORM programs and tools such as Risk & Control Self-Assessment practices (RCSA), Key Risk Indicators (KRIs) in ADIB Group.2. Development of ORM policies within ADIB Group.3. Management of operational risk programs in ADIB Group and maintaining of standards and processes for the execution.4. Ensure that policies and standards are being adhered to and exceptions are escalated to Senior Management or relevant executive committees.? Risk Identification, Assessment and Measurement1. Manage the businesses in the identification of key operational & Fraud risk exposures within ADIB Group.2. Ensure that key issues and actions are identified and effectively managed.3. Manage the performance of operational risk assessments in accordance with ADIB?s Operational Risk Management Framework.4. Ensure that adequate risk responses are taken toward risk exposures including acceptance and escalation.5. Manage the assessment and analysis as required by working with different stakeholders on Product Risk Review, problematic processes, outsource arrangements, key initiatives, significant loss events, etc.6. Analyze the outcome of links created between ORM tools such as Loss data, KRI. RCSA, Issues and actions, P&P review.7. Initiate the coordination and open channels with various risk stakeholders to jointly identify and assess risks such as compliance, fraud, information security, business continuity risks for inclusion in the overall risk profiles as part of an ERM approach ? Risk and Control Governance:1. Manage the assessment of controls? adequacy and strength in ADIB Group and recommends management action to ensure a stable risk profile.2. Analyze and monitor the control environment information pertaining to ADIB Group.3. Build and produce regular reports on operational risk profiles, analysis and exposures on a regular basis.4. Coordinate as required with Internal Audit Review (IAR) visits.? Operational & Fraud Risk Management Center of Expertise:1. Provide guidance to ORM stakeholders with respect to operational risk programs2. Support the implementation of ORM Projects in relation to systems, platforms, tools, and training.3. Acts as a Center of Excellence for education and advocacy of information on ADIB Group?s Operational & Fraud risk management practices and programs to foster sound ORM in ADIB Group leading to embedding an Operational & Fraud risk mind-set in the business.a. Managerial / Supervisory Excellence1. Embody the values of ADIB Group in the daily relation with ADIB?s staff.2. Demonstrate a collaborative work ethic and enterprise-wide mind-set and leadership in the performance of duties.3. Promotes a strong culture of control awareness and risk mitigation in all dealings with the business and Global Risk Management.4. Accepts and successful execution by self and the team.Specialist Skills / Technical Knowledge Required for this role:? Working knowledge of leading operational risk best practices, tools and regulatory requirements.? Demonstrate ability to collaborate with coworkers and Senior Management-level professionals? Strong presentation and communication (verbal and written) skills.? Strong problem solving, analytical (including qualitative analysis), research, and quantitative skills? Strong knowledge of Banking products, processes, and organization.? Advanced Computer skills (e.g. Microsoft Office Suite)
