The Manager Technical Product Portfolio is a leader who applies their technical knowledge and analytical skills to solve business problems. Acting as the front door to technology, providing a single view of demand / scope across the given product portfolio. They assess and sequence ideas, defining the high-level need, business value, and effort in collaboration with technology teams and business leaders. The role is critical to ensuring that the internal `voice of the customer? is heard and works with customers to constantly understand and communicate their needs and participate in the validation of the proposed solutions for the assigned technical teams within the Portfolio. They are responsible for the growth, maturity, and evolution of the technical product management capability within the portfolio. Job Outline: - Responsible for the ?What? and ?Why? in technology terms, driving the `sequence? and `scope? at a portfolio level, working closely with all other Product Portfolio?s to ensure that the impacted Product Portfolios are connected to deliver quality and innovative business solutions. - Defines the product roadmap and vision for the technology products within the portfolio and ensures it is linked to all other product portfolios. - Initiates and `curates? strategic innovation ideas from all stakeholders and jointly presents to business proposition managers /business product manager and other stakeholders and in collaboration with the business, prioritises initiative?s, based on evidence. - Understands the long-term investment strategy for the Portfolio and captures long term business needs as well as the associated Enterprise Architecture Roadmaps that will require implementation within the portfolio. Advises key business and finance stakeholders on the annual and 3-year investment levels required to achieve business value, technology debt reduction and scalability for the Portfolio. - Provides long term product roadmap to business stakeholders associated with the assigned Product Portfolio. Evaluates business case for product roadmap investments and provides value propositions at an enterprise capability level to offer a set of differentiated solutions in which new integrated capabilities may emerge to a respond to expanding end user patterns - Lead and drives continuous performance improvement across Technical Product Management capability, through adopting industry best practices, to ensure quality and intuitive technology solutions are adopted and used by the `customer? - Shapes initiatives with portfolio teams ensuring alignment with appropriate internal governance and procedures, assuring the delivery of business value is at the forefront of all solutions - Evidences to business stakeholders that product portfolio investments will meet business needs and establish the minimum metrics needed. Post launch evaluation of initiatives, ensuring the business value is measured and aligned with the business that it is adopted and realised, to assure that the implementation of the strategy aligns with the agreed boundaries and the results are continuously improving. - Collaborate with other chapters and subject matter experts to continuously improve the technical product processes and practices required to build, deploy, monitor, and test quality products which enables and delivers measurable business value. - Establish position as a thought leader through the technical Product Management and coach and mentor a team of high performing IT product professionals, providing continuous feedback and facilitating professional development. Enabling the Technical Product community to flourish through high levels of engagement and productivity and nurture and attract Product Owners and Managers and be a technical product leader with continuous coaching for agile teams that promotes a culture of failing fast, learning and moving forward.
