Aldar Education - (220000EN)DescriptionAldar Education is currently seeking a UAE National Manager - Student Information Systems to support our growing family of owned and operated schools in the UAE. Due to planned current and future expansion we are looking to add to our current Technology & Transformation team supporting our British, US and IB curricula network of schools. The successful candidates will be closely aligned with our core values and ethos and possess a genuine understanding and appreciation of the values of the region.Job Purpose:The Student Information System Manager (SIS Manager) works closely with the IT management and SIS vendors to provide efficient, effective, and stable student information systems that meet the information, communication, and administrative needs of Aldar Academies school group. The SIS manager is responsible for organizing, directing, and administering the student information systems, maintaining a variety of functions including admissions, grades, scheduling, attendance, learning management, library, medical records, reports, parent access, and etc.Job Responsibilities:

• Develop and maintain a profound understanding of the dynamic needs of the Aldar Academies for student information systems (SIS).
• Plan, implement, customize, monitor, and oversee the student information systems, and troubleshoot and provide training as needed.
• Lead SIS administrator to perform daily SIS administration and management and ensure system security and integrity.
• Work closely with the Admissions Office, Registrar Office etc. to support all the student information processing requests.
• Prepare and distribute the student report card for each marking period and prepare the summary report according to academic team?s request.
• Develop and maintain good relationships with vendors and service providers.
• Develop and maintain appropriate guidelines, procedures, and materials for SIS.
• Plan, coordinate and conduct regular training programs for SIS users.
• Develop and implement SIS related projects
• Perform data synchronization, real-time or schedule-based, among possible separated systems, e.g., sync user from AD to SIS, or sync data from SIS to a separate billing, library or LMS system. Ideally lead the development of real-time integrations.
• Maintain the library system and be charge of the configuration of the system
• Monitor and analyse software problems, and work with software companies to solve such problems.
• Work with the network team on arranging upgrading and/or repair of broken parts of server, storage, and network components.
• Provide timely communication to administration and other users regarding the system status, such as notices of scheduled or un-scheduled downtime.
• Perform change management, and conduct test prior to the proposed upgrade or change to ensure the result is as expected
• Develop and maintain up-to-date documentation, including SIS and DB Topology, Inventory of all the DBs, DB servers and DB related storage devices, Configurations, User manuals, Step by step guides,
• Design and manage scheduled backup/restore works and ensure backup/restore works are conducted as expected.
• Work with the IT infrastructure team to establish contingency plans for addressing emergencies and disasters.
• Prepare and maintain a plan to meet school?s business continual plan and disaster recovery plan.
• Perform daily administration, management, and monitoring of backup systems for SIS data.
• Manage DB and application license to adequate license capacity for SIS.
• Plan, organize and implement contractual and procedural works.
• Maintains an awareness of the latest technology, trends and developments related with SIS to develop enhancement and adoption roadmaps.
• Assist IT heads in the annual IT budgeting regarding SIS.
• Monitor use of SIS resources and report any misuse and/or abuse.
• Supervise and evaluate the performance of the SIS Administrator(s).
• Performs any other duties as assigned by IT management that may not be consistent with the qualifications and skills required for this position.

QualificationsQualifications Minimum Qualifications

• UAE National is required
• Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or similar.
• IT project management certifications are desirable.
• ITIL certifications are desirable
• DB certifications are desirable

Minimum Experience

• 4-5 years of experience managing industry leading SIS solutions
