Position SummaryJob Objective:The Manager - Legal is responsible of supporting the Director - General Counsel in providing legal advice and guidance to functions and campuses as well as all relevant stakeholders on a broad range of matters including regulatory compliance, employment, contracts, and liability and insurance, to ensure the maximum legal protection of HCT and to maintain operations within the limits prescribed by the law.Main Responsibilities:StrategicLead the implementation of Legal Affairs strategic objectives and initiatives.Support with the development and implementation of Legal Affairs policies, procedures and processes and monitor compliance of subordinates.OperationalParticipate in the development HCTs legal policies, procedures and processes, and ensuring their effective implementation and dissemination.Participate in the definition and development of institutional policies, procedures, and processes, and provide guidance on institutional governance, through coordination with relevant functions and campuses, and under the supervision of the Director - General Counsel.Prepare contract forms, and draft and review HCT contractual arrangements with employees, contractors, vendors, partners or other parties to ensure that they comply with the applicable laws and regulations, and that HCTs interests are protected.Assist in assessing legal risks that HCT might face and support with the development of legal risk mitigation plans, in coordination with the Enterprise Risk Management, to reduce legal threats against HCT and maintain a good legal standing.Draft litigation documentation.Provide advice related to legal systems and regulations in UAE and support HCT in assessing contractual implications.Ensure the execution of all secretarial legal paper works and translations of legal documents in English and Arabic.Remain abreast of new laws and regulations related to HCTs activities, to ensure that HCTs policies, procedures and processes are constantly in line with legal requirements and to adequately use the knowledge in potential litigation cases.People ManagementProvide professional development support and perform periodic performance appraisals for direct subordinates based on HCTs Performance Management System.Coach and mentor subordinates on a regular basis.Contribute in an effective and efficient manner to the recruitment and development of UAE Nationals.?RequirementsQualifications:Minimum of a Bachelors degree in a relevant field is required e.g. Law.A valid UAE Bar Association membership/registration OR a Bar License and Qualification for practice of legal profession from a recognised legal jurisdiction is required.Full English and Arabic proficiency are required.Intermediate computer literacy is required e.g. MS Office.Experience:Minimum of six years of work experience in Legal Affairs with at least two years of experience in a managerial role.?
