Job Description

Job Purpose: describe in one or two sentences the primary purpose of the jobThis Business Partnering role is suited to a driven business-oriented professional looking to take the next step. The candidate must be a self-starter with a clear sense of initiative, direction and accountability. S/he will be able to work effectively under pressure and will work collaboratively with stakeholders to identify effective solutions to issues as they arise.The role will provide analytical decision support for internal stakeholders in Gulf cluster.The candidate will coordinate / lead the advanced planning, reporting and analysis process and will provide high-quality financial information and insights, contributing towards the success of the business whilst always upholding our values of integrity.This position reports into the Business Finance Director and is responsible for

  • providing financial and analytical support for the designated hub and the region, working closely with the Consumer GMs to achieve financial targets and evaluate / implement growth opportunities
  • Ensuring integrity and accuracy of the financial statements and compliance with Pfizer finance policies and procedures.
  • Consolidates the forecasts / plans / actuals for the designated hub and ME Region (support). Provide analytical support as part of Consumer Finance Team, with timely and relevant financial analysis related to on-going business results / processes, ad-hoc analysis and long-term business planning
Key Accountabilities: (the main results the job holder is accountable for delivering)Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
  • Providing value added analytics to inform decision making by;
    • partnering with Business Finance Centre (BFC), Decision Support Centre of Excellence (DSCoE), commercial departments and other stakeholders.
    • Leverage automated reports produced by the BFC / DSCoE.
    • Assessing profitability, supporting pricing decisions, and offering other support and advice.
  • In partnership with BFC / DSCoE, coordinate budget and forecast preparation for relevant business units, ensuring accuracy, completeness & reasonableness of data prior to senior management review.
  • Validate monthly financial reports. Ensure data integrity in P&L and follow up on variances.
  • Provide timely / accurate monthly cost centre reports and help non-Finance colleagues interpret data.
  • Work with Finance Operations team and Inventory CoE to ensure accurate reporting of all product inventories and master data, in alignment with relevant policies.
  • Ensure routine finance matters are seen to timely / accurately (cost centre set up, transfers, etc.)
  • Support adherence to compliance of regulatory, organisational and audit requirements in market.
  • Provide ad hoc periodic reporting, and carry-out ad hoc tasks, as required
  • Monthly consolidation and monitoring of revenues, VEMPS, COGS, expenses (actuals vs fcst, LY and budget) for the CEE- as well as for the ME-region
  • Working with commercial, transactional finance and Supply Chain teams to investigate/explain/understand variances and assess risks and opportunities.
  • Preparing hub and regional related financial data for local management and Regional Finance Director.
  • Monthly monitoring of in market sales, inventory levels and receivables for the CEE- and ME-region
  • Consolidating and submitting to headquarters forecasts / plans for the designated hub and preparing analysis on country and regional Revenues & Income Statements. Preparing executive financial summaries / presentation for local / regional management.
  • Leading operating plan/forecast processes and activities in the designated hub and support regional process (ME)
  • Handling pricing and costing activities for the CEE- and the ME-region and manage capital expense approval process
  • Cost Approval Forms/Purchase Order approvals, as required
  • Managing the setup and maintenance of financial systems between users and project teams, e.g. Ariba, GCE
  • Consolidation of hub and regional related management reports
  • Participation in cross-functional activities relating to data/system migration, BI and special projects
  • Collaboration with demand management and supply chain teams to handle forecasting and planning activities for the designated hub
  • Collaboration with HR in employee-related questions, e.g. on/off-boarding of employees, payroll, bonus, severance
  • Partnering with GMs and commercial teams to execute business strategies; provide analytical support for key business decisions such as: resource prioritization, field force sizing, licensing & business development opportunities, trade/distribution agreements, pricing strategies, procurement strategies, and capital projects.
  • Helping GMs to identify and evaluate investment alternatives to drive revenue growth or maximize earnings potential
  • Ensuring integrity of the market?s financial statements and roll out of policies & procedures (accounting, FCPA/GPHIP) in the region.
  • Coordinating with WBB transactional team and distributors? teams to ensure adequate transactional support to Consumer BU and identify synergies / costs optimization opportunities
  • Assist GMs and Regional finance Director in providing finance support and decision making relating to business development projects

  • Strong preference for solid international exposure and acquaintance with working in a multi-cultural environment
  • Strong IT skills: MS Office, respective accounting & reporting systems. Demonstrated high proficiency with Pfizer?s financial reporting systems and/or ability to learn new systems.

Experience and Knowledge:
  • Bachelor (Accounting/ Finance/ Economics/ Business or Analytical emphasis).
  • Minimum 5 years accounting/finance experience, by preference within a multinational company.
  • Advanced computer literacy with working knowledge of financial accounting software / ERPs
  • Strong MS Office skills, particularly Excel, Powerpoint & Word. MBA or any professional qualification (CIMA, CA, CPA, ACCA, etc) is advantageous
  • Experience in business partnering and decision support
  • MBA, Master degree and/or CPA is a plus
  • IT exposure to Financial planning systems (HFM / SAP)
