Job Description

Title:Lead Electrical Engineer - Transmission LineKBR is looking for Lead Electrical Engineer - Transmission Line to be based in Abu Dhabi - UAETransmission line engineer will be tasked with the following job description:

  • Conduct electrical network feasibility and planning studies of oil field
  • Support Project team to develop significant electrical transmission and distribution network engineering solutions
  • Generate cost effective and reliable design for medium and high voltage transmission lines
  • Prepare planning and detailed project estimates, including engineering, materials, and construction
  • Prepare equipment, material and construction specifications and scope documents for EPC tenders and contracts
  • Perform design document reviews from EPC contractors
  • Perform field reviews of work during construction
Experience:
  • Experience in a consulting engineering environment, able to rapidly task switch between projects
  • Knowledge and thorough understanding of transmission engineering, conductor selection and material take offs
  • Experience in designing reliable and economical bus scheme
  • Knowledge in power line carrier communication system
  • Thorough understanding and knowledge of application software to include NEPLAN, PLS-CADD, PLS TOWER, ETAP PS, DIgSILENT, CYME, CYMCAP and AutoCAD.
  • Knowledge and understanding of engineering standards: NESC, IEEE, ASCE, ACI and ANSI that relate to transmission design
  • Preparing cost effective design for EPC projects
  • Knowledge of design documents preparation and reviews including but not limited to- single line diagram, protection and metering diagram, specifications and data sheets of power transformer, power and control cables, CB, CT, PT, ISO, WT, earthing and Lighting
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor?s degree in electrical engineering
  • Minimum 15 years? experience in transmission line design
