Job Description

Title:Lead Electrical and Instrument - Grid Substation EngineerKBR is looking Lead Electrical and Instrument - Grid Substation Engineer to be based in Abu Dhabi - UAEGrid Substation engineer will be tasked with the following job description:

  • Support Project team to develop significant electrical transmission and distribution network engineering solutions
  • Generate cost effective and reliable design for 33kV and 132kV grid substation and Substation automation system
  • Prepare planning and detailed project estimates, including engineering, materials, and construction
  • Prepare equipment, material and construction specification and scope documents for EPC tenders and contracts
  • Perform design document reviews from EPC contractors and field reviews of work during construction
Experience:
  • Experience in a consulting engineering environment, able to rapidly task switch between projects
  • Knowledge and thorough understanding of medium and high voltage substation, transmission engineering and material take offs
  • Thorough understanding and knowledge of application software to include SCADA and AutoCAD.
  • Knowledge in power line carrier communication system
  • Experience in SCADA HV: TIP Signal list, co-ordination with HV signal list, parameterization of IEC addresses in SAS, pre- commissioning, and commissioning of LDC interoperability.
  • Experience in Substation Automation System: Base design, IED (Protection, BCU, Switches), SAS Parameterization, Protection Relay Parameterization, BCU Parameterization, SAS Parameterization, FAT, Preparation and submission of FAT Report, Follow-up and Incorporation of FAT Comments, Preparation, and submission of SAT.
  • Knowledge and understanding of engineering standards: ANSI, IEEE, ASCE, ACI and IEC that relate to substation design and transmission design
  • Preparing cost effective design for EPC projects and Knowledge of design documents preparation and reviews
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor?s degree in electronics and instrumentation or electrical engineering
  • Minimum 15 years? experience in substation, transmission, and distribution system design
