JOB DETAILSJob Level:Operations supportReporting To:Laboratory ManagerSubordinates:NilAge Requirement:25-50Minimum Education: Diploma in Chemistry or equivalentYears of Experience:3 years in Chemical Process PlantCertifications / Licenses:NILJOB RESPONSIBILITIESAssist the Laboratory Manager in over all activities related to Laboratory to achieve the QHSE objectives. The work conducted should be accurate and in time to meet the dead lines..Provide the technical support to Plant Operations, procurement & sales department on day to day basis.To ensure that all equipment in laboratory premises and materials available in the lab are always well maintained and serviced. Assist in building a system to establish proper maintenance procedures in coordination with the Laboratory manager and /or General Manager of the company.To ensure Quality control testing of the all the raw materials received /used for production, Finished products and other byproducts manufactured in the plant are carried out as per the established procedures.To maintain up to date inventory of all testing equipment, glassware and lab. Reagents. Arrange procuring glassware & reagents as and when required to replenish stock. Make sure adequate quantities of reagents and glass ware are available for smooth functioning of the plant operations.Establish reputable suppliers list of all our needs of lab equipment, glassware and reagents to ensure best quality and most competitive prices. Coordinate with the Procurement dept. in developing new reliable vendors for the raw materials/ glassware & equipment.Maintain regular and up to date information and records from international organizations (API, ASTM & ISO) relating to the quality control, testing methods and standards. Coordinate with people in establishing / achieving the Integrated management system for GCC.Maintain a schedule to calibrate the equipment and any repairs required. Carry out the internal calibrations for the instruments/ equipment in the laboratory. Assist in getting the external calibrations done from the approved vendors/ manufacturers.Liaise with outside laboratories to send samples (both raw materials and end products) for some special tests which are beyond the purview of the plant lab.
