The IT Security Professional is responsible for safeguarding the organizations computer systems, networks, and data from cyber threats, unauthorized access, and vulnerabilities. They develop and implement security measures, monitor security infrastructure, and respond to security incidents to ensure the integrity, confidentiality, and availability of information.Key Responsibilities:Design, implement, and manage security protocols and policies.Monitor network traffic for suspicious activity using security tools and software.Conduct vulnerability assessments and risk analyses.Respond promptly to security breaches, threats, and incidents.Maintain and update firewalls, antivirus, and intrusion detection/prevention systems.Ensure compliance with industry security standards and regulations.Educate staff on cybersecurity best practices and awareness.Maintain documentation of security policies, procedures, and incident reports.Collaborate with IT teams to ensure secure system configurations.Required Qualifications:Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.Professional certifications such as CISSP, CISM, CEH, or CompTIA Security+.Proven experience in cybersecurity, network security, or IT security roles.Strong understanding of firewalls, VPNs, IDS/IPS, and other security tools.Knowledge of operating systems (Windows, Linux), network protocols, and scripting.Analytical and problem-solving skills.Excellent communication and team collaboration skills.
