Job Description

The post-holder will work closely with teams in the following areas to optimise delivery and results:

  1. Prospect Journey & Conversion Team : Enquiries management, Admissions, CRM
  2. Marketing: Brand, web Presence, marketing collateral, events
  3. Academic schools: Portfolio training, events, marketing tools
  4. International Operations: Portfolio and product training, agents, scholarships
  5. Alumni relations: Utilising alumni as advocates to assist with recruitment
  6. International Development: University Partnerships, articulation pathways
  7. International Student Support: Visa support, campus welcome, wellbeing
Profile of Role HolderYou will have experience of working in the University sector and a real passion for working in international student recruitment.You will be keen to work hard to deliver ambitions student recruitment targets and have a strong customer focus and ?can-do? approach to your work.You will work well under pressure, to tight deadlines and have good time management skills.You will be keen to work as part of a team and support colleagues across the Heriot-Watt group.You will also be able to travel to key international markets on a regular basis and for periods of up to two weeks at a time.Key Duties & Responsibilities
  1. Act as an ambassador for the University to a range of stakeholders, notably prospective students, parents, agents, partner institutions and scholarship bodies
  2. Strengthen sales performance in the current markets and develop sales performance in the new potential markets
  3. Provide high quality market analysis based upon quantitative and qualitative market intelligence for designated markets in order to feed into student recruitment decisions
  4. Answering telephone enquiries and ensure all calls are logged
  5. Organising arrangements for receiving and tracking enquiries, applications and enrolments
  6. To develop and extend relationships with High Commissions/Embassies/Overseas offices such as the British Council on a planned basis.
  7. To report to the Intenrational Recruitment Manager on individual and team contribution to recruitment targets, annual projections and recommendations for improvements.
  1. Assist with the development and implementation of a highly focussed international recruitment plan for the Middle East and the Indian Subcontinent to deliver ambitious targets.
  1. Represent the University at recruitment fairs throughout the Middle East and the Indian Subcontinent, providing information, advice and guidance on the University?s portfolio and facilities.
  1. Work collaboratively with internal stakeholders on recruitment projects (e.g. on-campus events, agent conferences).
  2. Assist with the international development team to develop international partnerships across the region and to work with our established partnerships for mutual benefit.
  1. Work closely with the Marketing team to produce effective and informative marketing materials aimed at target audiences.
  1. Utilise the CRM system to engage with prospects.
  2. Assist with the on-going review and evaluation of the Service, including compilation and analysis of statistical data and production of reports.
  1. Any other relevant duties as reasonably required within the scope of the post.
Essential
  • Experience of working in international student recruitment
  • Have proven experience in Sales within the education industry
  • Experience of working with immigration rules (desirable)
  • Educated to first degree level or equivalent
  • Demonstrable excellence in customer service skills
  • Demonstrable experience of managing changing priorities
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Collaborative and proactive approach to work
  • Able to work autonomously but also be able to work as an effective team member
  • Willingness to work flexibly, often outside of normal working hours and across the Middle East and the Indian Subcontinent
Desirable
  • Detailed knowledge of Middle Eastern and/or Indian Subcontinent student recruitment sector
  • Understanding of the UK UG admissions system including UCAS
  • Experience of digital marketing supporting international student recruitment
  • CRM development experience
