Instructional Coach Lead - Charter Schools - Aldar Education - (2200007F)DescriptionAldar Education is currently seeking an Instructional Coach Lead - Charter Schools, to support our growing family of owned and operated schools in the UAE. Due to planned current and future expansion we are looking to add to our Team supporting our British, US and IB curricula network of schools.The successful candidates will be closely aligned with our core values and ethos and possess a genuine understanding and appreciation of the values of the region.Job PurposeThis role is based out of our Headquarters but located in Charter schools and involves supporting our family of schools to develop our teaching and learning standards across our schools to improve outcomes and support the development of our students in all areas of their learning.This role also requires a strong knowledge and experience of inclusion, SEN, ELL, the American curriculum, core standards, end of grade expectations, up to date teaching ideas and research and an understanding of how systems in schools work to improve outcomes for students.It also requires some areas of specialism within a phase i.e. KG, Elementary or High school.Responsibilities:Main Duties:

  • Support the development and implementation of the vision and strategic direction of the Charter group
  • To have a strong knowledge and experience base in the American curriculum and to have a strong understanding of learning development.
  • Set a clear vision and action plan for the designated areas of teaching, learning and pedagogy that are ain line with our given curriculum
  • Have a significant, measurable impact in the areas that is substantial and sustained
  • Have a positive impact on the quality of learning & teaching through the strategic group responsibilities, support plans and regular PD and coaching sessions in school
  • Lead by example, acting with integrity and respect in all aspects of leadership and education, showing professional regard for the policies, practices and the ethos of the Charter program and its stakeholders.
  • An ability to listen and really understand the developmental process of a colleague, to understand adult learning research and theory as well as school development.
  • The ability to differentiate coaching/mentoring plans for individuals and schools in conjunction with SLT and the Principal.
  • To have a strong understanding, knowledge and skill base of ELL and the developmental stages/levels of English language learning in an educational setting.
  • To be able to upskill all staff in the strategies and skills needed to ensure all teachers are ELL teachers across our schools.
  • To be able to work collaboratively with our schools and form strong relationships with teams to support the vision of Charter and the upskilling of our staff.
  • Foster positive relationships and attitudes to inspire and motivate staff, to be able to move people on and bring their strengths out, to be able to build trust with others and challenge thinking appropriately, resulting in reflection and robust development.
  • Use data analysis to inform policy and review procedures to identify patterns and trends in behaviour / Use analysis to inform Teaching & Learning.
  • To run and support learning networks across our schools that support the development of teaching and learning.
  • To have the ability to observe learning and identify areas of need and/or improvement.
  • To have the ability to identify exemplary teachers and coach them further to become models of teaching within the group.
  • To work with leadership teams for teaching and learning to create opportunities within the curriculum for students to improve outcomes.
  • Identify students who are underachieving and provide targeted strategies for teachers to give support and intervention within a classroom setting.
Specific Duties:
  • To be able to coach, mentor and guide others, to have strong communication skills that encourage trust and risk taking in our staff.
  • To be able to frame difficult conversations in a positive way and work with teams, individuals to upskill themselves.
  • To have an understanding of teaching and learning across our schools and the skill levels of staff.
  • To have the expertise to support schools in their upskilling of teachers.
  • To have a strong knowledge of the American curriculum and up to date expectations of Instructional Coaches
QualificationsMinimum Qualifications:
  • Bachelor?s degree in Education or bachelor?s degree
  • If from an education background: Postgraduate qualifications in teaching (eg. PGCE)
  • Non-educators: bachelor?s degree in a related subject (eg. Maths, statistics).
Minimum Experience:
  • At least 2 years senior or middle leadership responsibility in curriculum and/or assessment.
  • At least 2 years experience as a middle or senior leader in a school setting

  • The ability to impart the Charter vision, aims and goals in a manor that inspires, encourages and nurtures staff, leaders and students.
  • The ability to communicate ideas, messages and instructions to schools in a way that will coach, mentor and improve outcomes.
  • Strong knowledge and experience in American curriculums and assessment expectations
  • Strong knowledge in MAP testing
  • Strong knowledge in school improvement systems, processes and strategies to support an improvement in student outcomes.
