Job Description

Overview / ResponsibilitiesWood is currently looking for a Inspection Coordinator to strengthen our team in Dubai with potential business trips to Basra if required.OBJECTIVE:The primary objective of this position is to ensure the timely planning and execution of all required inspection activities on the contract. This extends to ensuring that all inspections are carried out by authorised inspection personnel and all inspection works are completed in accordance with approved inspection plans, supply chain documentation and specified requirements. This position will also provide support to coordinate fabrication orders and vendor documents in accordance with purchase order requirements.The Inspection Coordinator reports directly to the Contract Quality Lead.JOB DESCRIPTION

  • Establish contract inspection framework
  • Attending in Pre-inspection meeting with vendors
  • Reviewing vendor documents including ITPs, inspection and test reports etc.
  • Participate in criticality assessment workshops to formalise project inspection level lists
  • Provide input to inspection estimates
  • Assist with evaluation of materials suppliers, manufacturers, fabricators and NDE providers
  • Establish appropriate call off arrangements with 3rd party inspection agencies
  • Manage and raise inspection requests
  • Maintain inspection assignment register
  • Prepare inspection packages for inspectors
  • Assign competent, qualified and appropriately experienced inspectors to inspection assignments
  • Ensure necessary supplier documents have been approved prior to inspection visits
  • Coordinate product/material inspection activities
  • Provide support to coordinate fabrication activities
  • Review inspection outputs and highlight areas of concern
  • Report non-conformances identified by inspectors
  • Liaise with Discipline Engineers with regard to inspection queries, deficiencies & punch list items
  • Facilitate the recall, quarantine and replacement of defective products/materials
  • Support the review of vendor mechanical catalogues & manufacturing records books as required
  • Ensure upload of inspection reports and releases to document management system
  • Regular reporting of inspection status
  • Review and approve 3rd party inspection invoices
  • Liaise with the Client Quality Representative as appropriate
  • Ensure the closure of inspection requirements for project close out
Skills / QualificationsQUALIFICATIONS, EXPERIENCE, & SKILLS Minimum Qualifications:
  • Degree in Mechanical Engineering (desirable)
  • Quality Auditor Qualification by recognised industry body (essential)
  • Welding inspector certification (essential)
Minimum Experience:
  • Minimum 10 years Oil and Gas experience.
  • Minimum 10 years in a QA/QC role
  • Minimum 5 years in inspection coordination and fabrication management position
  • Exposure to ExxonMobil Contracts desirably but not mandatory
Job-Specific Skills:
  • Good planning and organisational skills
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office
  • High level of communication skills in both written and spoken format
  • Analytical, Problems Solving skills and Systematic thinking
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently with good initiative and interpersonal skills
