HLTA - AY(22-23) - Mubarak Bin Mohamed Charter School - (220000CV)DescriptionAldar Education is currently seeking High Level Teaching Assistant for Mubarak Bin Mohammed Charter School, Abu Dhabi, for the start of the AY2022-2022.Successful candidates will have a ?can do? attitude, as life in a Charter School can be challenging at times, but equally highly rewarding, as our impact upon student learning is clearly visible every day. A sense of humour is vital too!The successful candidates will be closely aligned with our core values and ethos and possess a genuine understanding and appreciation of the values of the region.This is an exciting opportunity to join the highly successful Aldar family of schools and to help shape the future of Abu Dhabi?s leading school group.RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Working with groups and individuals to support learning across the curriculum under the direction of the class teacher. This could include the delivery of intervention programmes.
  • Planning programmes of learning for individuals, groups, and whole classes.
  • Training colleagues in the delivery of support programmes for children.
  • Encouraging independence i.e, helping the children achieve their objectives (through questioning, dialogue, demonstrating and modelling) rather than doing the work for them.
  • Administrative tasks to support the class teacher ? e.g, preparing resources etc
  • Engaging the pupils in meaningful talk at all opportunities in order to develop language and build relationships.
  • Supervising the children, for example on trips, at break times, travelling around the school, and at swimming and PE lessons.
  • Managing pupil behaviour in a positive manner and being a positive role model in line with the school?s way of behaviour.
  • To always ensure confidentiality i.e never discussing any aspect of the work of the school other than with colleagues in school.
  • Being proactive in knowing the expectations of your work for each session
  • To meet at least weekly with the teaching team.
  • To work closely with the class teacher to ensure there is effective communication- both oral and written.
  • To be proactive in your own professional development.
QualificationsREQUIREMENTSMinimum Qualifications
  • Minimum of Secondary School certificate.
Minimum Experience
  • Minimum of 1-year experience as Teacher assistant for Elementary School.
Job Specific Knowledge & Skill
  • Experience of working with students of relevant age in a learning environment / school setting.
  • Experience of planning programmes of learning for individuals, groups and whole classes.
  • Calm and positive approach
  • High level of ability to relate well with children and adults
  • Sensitive to the needs of children and parents
  • Active listening skills
  • Advanced IT Knowledge, experience in ExactPath is preferred.
  • Committed to continuous professional development.
  • Ability to communicate accurately in English & Arabic.
  • Ability to work under pressure to meet tight deadlines.
