Plans, coordinates, and directs Safety & Business Continuity program within MBC Studios Productions designed to ensure the ability of each production to minimize potential risks and hazards at production sites to prevent accidents in line with Health & Safety regulations and OSHAS 18001 standards.
Pro-actively provides operational support, advice, and assistance to Producers when Health and Safety problems arise and works to resolve it quickly and effectively.
Maintain, update, and continually improve safety documents and procedures and ensure appropriate implementation through continues awareness, inspection, and audit on contractors and third parties at productions site when possible.
Liaise with outsourced Health and Safety officers working on MBC Studios Productions abroad to ensure all risks have been mitigated and control measures have been taken into consideration.
Formulate and maintain safety objectives and conduct periodic evaluations and coordinates results with Corporate Safety and Security team applying paperwork on the MBC Groups security portal to maximize productivity, quality of service and facilitate third party Auditing.
Liaising as necessary with MBC?s staff deployed on production sites, producers, the designer (contractor), subcontractors, and any other relevant individual(s) to ensure compliance with legal obligations and statutory requirements, as per MBC Studios OSH policy.
Manage and supervise all set construction, set dressing, rehearsals, and productions ensuring that all the above mentioned are carried out following safe systems of work as per the Authorities Health and Safety technical guidelines, OSHAD COPs, and other related international guidelines.
Manage and oversee special effects, stunt, the use of explosive and combustible materials for productions.
Create, review, and update standard operation procedures (SOPs) for all high-risk activities.
Carryout job safety analysis, risk assessment, and safe work method statement for all productions where required.
Review of all the OSH documentation before commencement of work /activity (including construction and production) undertaken on site are prepared by the Producer/Contractors/Subcontractors and meet standards.
Immediately reporting identified continued non-conformance by the Contractors/or sub-contractor /Producer to MBC Studios management.
Reviewing and participating in the OSH promotional activities (Safety in the heat during summer months and other awareness sessions)
Conduct Production site inspection, prepare reports, and communicate recommendations to productions and management.
Carryout first aid box inspections for all first aid boxes as per requirement.
Create a Production risk register and a risk register action plan for MBC Studios productions and ensure that they are implemented.
Create and revise the Production legal register.
Ensuring COSHH assessments are undertaken for all the chemicals being stored and handled at own or hired site.
Implement COSSH standards, ensure that COSHH registers and SDS book are in place, and hazards associated with hazardous materials are communicated to staff and employees where applicable.
Overseeing the storage of all chemical and hazardous materials where applicable.
Ensuring that all individuals who are handling hazardous wastes, working at a height, operating machinery and equipment, lifting equipment, scaffolding and involved with any such other high-risk activities and tasks are provided with the necessary training, certifications, licenses and experiences as may be required by the applicable regulations.
Ensure specific inspections like COVID-19 compliance inspections are conducted on Productions and the report it to the MBC Group Security and Safety Portal.
Implement Emergency Management Plans of all scenarios in MBC Productions including fire scenarios, based on a risk assessment.
Create emergency drill matrix for Production sites.
Conduct emergency drills as per drill matrix, prepare drill reports (using custom MBC Group forms), and review emergency response plans if required.
Ensure Emergency evacuation plan / evacuation layout are displayed and communicated to the Production crew and cast in accordance with UAE Fire and Life Safety Code of Practice (2018) and Other international standards.
Create training plan or matrix for the Productions, and conduct HSE trainings as per requirement.
Conduct mandatory OSH induction for all contractors, production staff, Crews, Cast and visitors.
Ensure that the required signage are installed in the permanent and temporary areas and any gaps shall be brought to the attention of MBC studios management.
Coordinate and manage Plant preventive maintenance for the long terms production site, waste management, and pest control operations as per requirements, keeping record of all documentations and service reports.
Report all incidents (near miss and accidents) using the MBC Group incident forms, and update incident trackers on the Portal.
Ensure that staff and employees are communicated the incident reporting process for the site.
Investigate all incidents are investigated with root cause analyzed, and corrective measure implemented to prevent reoccurrence.
Ensure Internal OSHMS Compliance Audits are conducted based on a plan.
Ensure OSH corrective actions following inspections and audit are tracked, monitored, and closed.
Monitor and close corrective actions of non-conformance raised during internal audits.
Ensure the KPI spreadsheet is up to date and communicated to MBC Studios management team on a quarterly basis.
Implement Document Control and Record Retention requirements as required using MBC Group Portal as a tool.
