About the teamCareem Pay?s purpose is to empower people to lead better lives by simplifying their payment experiences and access to financial services. Its vision is to become the leading digital financial services platform of the region serving consumers, captains and merchants.As an early-stage start-up within Careem, we are looking to build a team of energised, start-up-minded and ambitious colleagues who are super excited about the massive fintech opportunity in the region.What youll do

  • Play a key role in launching Careem Pay across the MENA region
  • Develop and manage market-specific project plans for Careem Pay launches in various markets, utilizing project-management best practices and techniques
  • Ensure completion of all launch workstreams in a timely fashion; monitor progress and keep senior leadership informed of red flags, delays and decisions needed
  • Drivelarge and cross-functional groups of colleagues (e.g., product, engineering, legal, compliance, partnerships, marketing, commercial) to ensure smooth and on-track Careem Pay launches in any given market
  • Work with external partners to ensure timely partnership and integration implementation for market launches
  • Continually iterate and innovate Careem Pay Launch Playbook for future launches, and report on KPIs to assess impacts of different launch strategies
  • Flexibility to travel 10-20% of the year, to MENA region cities where we are launching

  • Top-tier educational background
  • Minimum 3 years of professional experience within a leading fintech, bank or management consulting firm -- with clear emphasis and track record in PMO / project management / new market launches
  • Knowledge of payments business models, value chain, players and industry trends is preferred
  • Understanding of tech integration process which requires integration with third party vendors
  • Detail-oriented and organised with a strong talent for project management
  • Ability to drive results from large, cross-functional project teams from inception to delivery of projects
  • Willingness and ability to work in an ambiguous, fast-paced and changing environment
  • Action-oriented with aser focus on speed and results on a daily basis
  • Self-starter with high level of ownership and limited need for oversight and support

  • Even though we are working remotely, we are strong believers in collaboration and the power of building social connections with our teams. For that reason, our offices are still open and provide plenty of collaboration-friendly spaces at times when teams need it or if you need a quiet space to work outside of home.
  • You?ll be working in the location you?re hired from. Due to legal and compensation considerations, you will need to be based out of the country you?re hired from as your primary work location.
