That?s why the person in this role is key to helping Stantec position our brand resourcefully and effectively.Around here, a graphic designer provides creative services to help build campaigns and proposals based on our brand. By artfully developing and executing design solutions from concept to completion, this person drives value to the marketing and communications team as well as the business as a whole through brand awareness.The heart of this position can be broken down into three core responsibilities:Brand ApplicationttEffectively create and apply the principles of design to projectsVCD PrinciplestttDevelop and implement best practices of communication designTask ManagementttBalancing, organizing, and managing individual tasks on projectsThe Graphic Designer lives the brand and applies it to all of these equally important areas.Brand ApplicationEffectively applying the right idea is just as important as coming up with it in the first place. That?s why the Graphic Designer uses their skills in visual storytelling to create and execute design solutions from concept to completion, bringing our brand to life. They also:?tDesign and develop projects based on Stantec brand guidelines, including:otCreating proposal and business development material (charts, graphs, tabs, packaging, and layouts as required)otDesigning eMaterials and online graphics as neededotSupporting special events (client receptions, golf tournaments, trade shows, etc.)otPreparing creative briefsotContributing to brainstorming sessionsotAssisting with larger company-wide initiatives?tSupport brand awareness campaigns?tAct as a marketing photography contact as required, with occasional on-site art direction?tPreparing creative briefs for photographers and contributing ideas to capture all three Stantec photography styles on a shoot?tImplement brand standards, including photography styles and brand program guidelines?tEnsure work is correct and consistently completes quality reviews of their work?tUse the Resource Library as an archive for all promotional projects?Design PrinciplesThis is where a Graphic Designer really shows their knowledge of design. Using talent built through education and experience paired with a creative eye, they help elevate their profession. Their contributions to the design team help create a tight-knit design discipline at Stantec. In their role, this person:?tCollaborates with the design team, shares in-progress designs for feedback?tGives design tips to marketing colleagues, through team meetings and ongoing project support?tThoughtfully incorporates feedback from internal clients and design and marketing team members, and responds with several options?tWorks with the marketing team to proactively educate clients on brand guidelines and design best practices?tConducts ongoing benchmarking to stay on top of industry trends, new technologies and design software?tParticipates in design duo partnerships and shares inspiration and ideas?tWatches for and participates in professional development opportunities and design industry events, bringing back ideas and lessons to the design team?tNetworks within and becomes a part of local and/or online design communities?tChampions the Resource Library as a brand and design resource, and coordinates Resource Library training to all new regional team membersTask ManagementCreativity is applied everywhere in this role?even in the organization and planning that comes with contributing to a project from brainstorming to finalization. A Graphic Designer is responsible for:?tManaging and completing all work on time, within brand guidelines, and error-free; reporting status of projects to supervisors?tCoordinating with the marketing and design team to create and execute design solutions?tSeeking input proactively and searching out content from others; attending meetings to understand needs/scope of a project?tSuccessfully juggling multiple projects and priorities, marrying short timeframes with high-quality workTitle:Graphic DesignerQualifications:Personal Skills:People have a lot of good things to say about the person in this role.
