Role PurposeWe are seeking an experienced and meticulous Flow Cytometry Technologist to join our Laboratory Services team. This role focuses on operating, managing, and troubleshooting flow cytometry equipment and protocols to support advanced diagnostics and research. You will play a vital role in the accurate and timely analysis of cell populations for clinical and research applications.RequirementsKey Responsibilities1. Flow Cytometry OperationsPerform flow cytometry analysis on clinical and research specimens, including multi-color immunophenotyping.Prepare samples for flow cytometry using staining, lysing, and fixation protocols.Operate and maintain flow cytometers, ensuring proper calibration and quality control.2. Instrumentation and MaintenanceConduct routine maintenance and troubleshooting of flow cytometers (e.g., BD FACSCanto, FACSCanto II, or similar).Monitor and ensure performance compliance with quality standards.Document maintenance logs and report malfunctions promptly.3. Data Analysis and ReportingUse specialized software to analyze flow cytometry data and generate detailed reports.Collaborate with physicians and researchers to interpret results and provide insights for diagnosis or experimental outcomes.4. Compliance and Quality AssuranceAdhere to laboratory protocols, quality assurance procedures, and safety regulations.Ensure compliance with CBAHI, JCI, CAP, and other relevant standards.Conduct regular reviews of testing processes to maintain high diagnostic accuracy.Essential QualificationsEducation: Bachelor?s degree in Medical Laboratory Science, Biological Sciences, or related field.Experience: Minimum of 5 years working with flow cytometry in a clinical or research setting.Licensing: Valid license from the Saudi Council for Health Specialties.Desired QualificationsEducation: Master?s degree in Medical Laboratory Science or related field is an advantage.Experience: 5+ years in flow cytometry or hematopathology is preferred.Skills: Expertise in multi-color panel design and compensation, sample preparation, and troubleshooting instrumentation.Key Competencies and SkillsProficiency in operating and maintaining flow cytometry equipment and software.Strong analytical skills and attention to detail for accurate data interpretation.Effective communication skills to explain complex data to clinicians and researchers.Time management and multitasking skills to meet deadlines in a high-volume lab environment.Knowledge of laboratory standards (CBAHI, JCI, CAP, etc.) and quality assurance procedures.
