Estimation Manager - ConstructionJob Location : UAEKey Responsibilities:•Project Evaluation: Review project plans, specifications, and documents to understand scope, requirements, and constraints.•Cost Estimation: Prepare accurate and detailed cost estimates for labor, materials, equipment, and overhead.•Quantity Takeoff: Quantify required quantities of materials, labor, and equipment for construction.•Vendor and Supplier Coordination: Obtain quotes and negotiate with suppliers and subcontractors for competitive prices.•Budgeting: Develop and manage project budgets, including forecasting and tracking costs throughout the lifecycle.•Value Engineering: Suggest alternative materials or construction methods to provide cost savings without compromising quality.•Bid Preparation: Prepare bids for construction projects in response to tenders or RFPs.•Risk Assessment: Identify potential risks and uncertainties affecting project costs and develop contingency plans.•Collaboration: Work closely with project managers, architects, engineers, and other stakeholders for accurate and timely cost information.•Cost Reporting: Provide regular reports on estimated costs, actual costs, and variances.Requirements:•Technical Knowledge: Strong understanding of construction materials, methods, and processes.•Quantitative Skills: Proficient in mathematics and able to perform accurate calculations.•Estimation Software: Familiarity with software such as PlanSwift and precontracting software.•Communication Skills: Ability to convey complex technical information clearly.•Analytical Thinking: Capable of analyzing project details and making accurate estimations.•Negotiation Skills: Able to negotiate prices with suppliers and subcontractors.•Attention to Detail: Precision is crucial in estimating costs accurately.•Time Management: Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.•Regulatory Knowledge: Familiarity with local building codes, regulations, and industry standards.•Problem Solving: Ability to identify and address potential cost-related issues.Education and Experience:•A Bachelors degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field.•Previous experience in estimating or related roles in the construction industry is beneficial.•Masters degree or professional certification in estimation or project management is a plus.•Proven experience in construction estimation, with a minimum of 7 years in a managerial or leadership role.•In-depth knowledge of construction industry practices, materials, and methods, with a strong understanding of cost factors and market trends.
