Job Description

Overview / ResponsibilitiesWood is currently recruiting for Survey Lead position to be worked on our offshore/subsea project for 6 months contract.This role will be directly reporting to Engineering Manager.Objective:

  • To provide effective management of onshore, nearshore and offshore geophysical and hydrographic survey support and resources to projects as required;
  • To act as focal point for all survey related activities related to onshore and offshore projects
  • To represent the client?s best interests;
  • To recruit and manage survey resources in support of projects
  • To provide survey technical expertise supporting onshore and offshore operations
  • Provide leadership in applying company safety rules and training in support of field operations, Represent the client?s interests by ensuring survey representatives oversee survey contractors delivering survey data that is fit for purpose;
  • Development and approval of Scopes of work, technical specifications and pricing form preparation;
  • Technical and commercial tender evaluation;
  • Management of Offshore QC / supervision and management of survey contractors;
  • Review of survey contractor reports and data;
  • Geospatial data management and use;
Please note that at this stage, applications for this role are invited as an Expression of Interest (EOI) whilst opportunities are being fully determined.Skills / QualificationsPerson Specification:
  • Proven resource management skills;
  • Surveying, Geomatics or Hydrography degree;
  • Must have significant offshore / subsea survey experience as Party Chief / Reporting Manager;
  • Must have previous experience as a Project Surveyor;
  • Knowledge of installation, configuration and operation of contemporary survey-related hardware and software;
  • Full understanding of calibration requirements and procedures for survey systems and sensors;
  • Experience of spatial data manipulation and management;
  • Working knowledge of geodesy and geotechnical sampling;
  • Must be proficient in Microsoft Office and geospatial data manipulation software including Blue Marble Geographic Calculator, ESRI ArcGIS and Autodesk AutoCAD;
  • Must have good knowledge of IT systems ;
  • Working knowledge of Oil & Gas and Renewable industries technical specifications and standards;
