Job Description

Main Purpose of the Job:Mott MacDonald is looking for a Geotechnical Engineer or Engineering Geologist to support the delivery of various projects in Middle East.Key responsibilities and dutiesare listed, but not limited to, the below:

  • GI contract administration and preparation of specifications, interpretation and verification of ground investigation data and parameters to build up a ground model to assist in design
  • Production of design solutions and drawings, covering a range of project requirements from new build to modification, maintenance, refurbishment and foundation design
  • Detailed design analysis involving application of geotechnical principles, including soil mechanics and marine foundation design ground improvement and reclamation design, deep excavations, retaining walls and tunnels, deep foundations and groundwater behaviour
  • Prepare Geotechnical Interpretative Reports (GIRs)
  • Working with engineers of other disciplines in order to produce integrated geotechnical assessments into the overall project delivery
  • Assessing the geotechnical hazards and risks to projects and communicating appropriate solutions
  • Answering technical queries and requests for information and forward to relevant designers
Candidate Specification :
  • Experience in the geotechnical works related to large infrastructure, residential and commercial development projects.
  • Masters Degree in Civil Engineering (Geotechnical discipline) from an accredited university Professional Engineering Registration from any internationally recognised professional institution would be a distinct advantage
  • Prior experience of working on ground improvement and deep foundations would be an advantageous
  • Experience in geotechnical works on ground investigation, foundation design is a must
  • Knowledge of geotechnical software packages including Holebase, Slope/W, Seep/W, Repute and Plaxis would be beneficial.
