Ras Al Khaimah Mina Al Arab Resort and Spa is scheduled to open Q3 2021 and we are now seeking a highly organized, critical thinking, creative, and result-driven Duty Engineer to join our dynamic team.The resort will comprise 351 keys, a health club, a spa, and two pools. Covering an area of 43,770 sqm, the resort is a short drive from famous archaeological sites such as Dhayah Fort and Sheba?s Palace. Set on a headland surrounded by protected coastal wetlands with lush landscaping fronting a sweeping beach on one side and a manmade waterway on the other, the guest rooms, suites, and chalets offer panoramic water views.As a Duty Engineer, you will be responsible to ensure that all the engineering and maintenance activities of the hotel are conducted to the highest professional standards at all times, with guest comfort and safety being the highest priority. While we are in the pre-opening phase, some of your main responsibilities are :

  • Assist the Director of Engineering in the preparation of the annual departmental operating budget and financial plans.
  • Assist the Director of Engineer to develop preventive maintenance programs to ensure the facility is maintained and in service for our guests (example: lighting, refrigeration, heating, air-conditioning, water treatment systems, and pools).
  • Assist the Director of Engineer to coordinate projects with general contractor and sub-contractor, and ensure quality work is performed cost-effectively.
  • Assist Director of Engineer to develop, implement and manage energy conservation programs for the property to minimize expenses.
  • Educate and train all engineering colleagues in compliance with governmental and safety regulations
  • Ensure the team is properly trained and has the tools and equipment to carry out job duties.
  • Promote teamwork and quality service through daily communication and coordination with other departments. Communicate with all hotel department heads to stay informed of maintenance needs and ensure timely responses to requests.
In order to be considered for this role, ideally, youll have some or all of the following competencies and experience were looking for :
  • Certified in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering.
  • Two years operating experience in a hotel engineering department.
  • Minimum of 2-3 years experience in a supervisory position in a hotel engineering department or a related field with a proven record of accomplishment or success. Experience in a pre-opening hotel is an advantage
  • Advanced knowledge of building management/engineering
  • Highly committed to delivering a high level of guests experience
  • Excellent written and spoken communication skills in English, particularly to deal effectively with people from diverse backgrounds.
