To assume responsibility for the cost-effective operation of the P.O.M.E.C department.? To assist with the preparation of the annual and revised budget in close co-operation with the Financial Controller and management, commensurate with the operational requirements of the property.? To keep accurate records and monitor closely all budget expenditures, to ensure that the budget is adhered to, cost strictly controlled, and approval sought priorto expenditure.? To allocate and countersign all invoices chargeable to the P.O.M.E.C. budget before being processed and charged.? Responsible for coordinating and overseeing the daily operations of the engineering department.? Develop strategies for the future growth of the Engineering department and resort? Ensure all Capital projects are conducted in line with company policies and procedures ? Monitors engineering activities to ensure adherence to established policies, operating procedures and standards.? Prepares comprehensive budgets and forecasts to ensure the efficient and cost effective operation of the department.? Oversees the implementation, co-ordination, and monitoring of the JEMS (Jumeirah Engineering Management System). This includes the Fire, Life and Safety Matrix, PPM, and work order system.? Responsible for appraising and formalizing career development/training plans for direct reports.? Submits a comprehensive monthly report to the General Manager/Group Director of Engineering.? Be familiar with and comply with all relevant Engineering Department policies, Processes and procedures.? To ensure optimum use of utilities through energy management techniques? To promote the values, hallmarks, and guiding principles of the company.? To partake in occupational health and safety initiatives and form part of the SBU?s occupational health and safety committee.? To perform other duties that management may from time to time reasonably require.About you:The ideal candidate for this position will have the following experience and qualifications:? Mechanical or Electrical Higher diploma or equivalent? Certificate in project management? Diploma in Engineering managementOr? Bachelors Degree in Mechanical, Electrical or HVAC Engineering? Diploma in Engineering management? Minimum of 5 Years post qualification experience in a 5-star hotel? Minimum of 5 years in a supervisory role? Middle east experience?
