Job Description

Al Arabiya broadcasts newscasts every hour as well as talk shows and documentaries. The programs cover current affairs, business, stock markets and sports and is rated among the top pan-Arab stations by Middle East audiences. Middle East News have an exciting opportunity for a Digital Script Writer. You will need to think creatively and demonstrate a passion for digital content. You will be able to demonstrate how you have brought storytelling to life in new and innovative ways. You will probably have examples of narrative that you have created and have distributed via various platforms. You will understand how people consume content in a modern digital world. Mostly likely, you will be someone that consumes content in this way yourself across a wide range of media. You will be able to initiate ideas and will work collaboratively with others to realise these ideas. You will be able to work at pace and hit deadlines. You will be able to work as an individual or within a team.Job Objective:

  • Contributing new ideas.
  • Initiating ideas from a wide range of different sources & stimuli.
    • Contributing to brainstorming sessions.
    • Maintaining an excellent awareness of digital content trends.
  • Taking part in creative development sessions, coming up with original ideas and building on existing ones.
  • Developing creative editorial scripts.
Requirements:
  • 3+ years of experience.
  • Bachelor in Digital Journalism or any relevant major.
  • Quality command of the Arabic language.
  • Ability to create original ideas and tell compelling stories.
  • Demonstrable experimentation of concepts and ideas development.
  • Ability to work well with colleagues and a diverse range of contacts.
  • A resilient, flexible, and adaptable approach in the face of rapidly changing circumstances.
  • Desire to learn new skills.
  • A self-starter able to remain positive and motivated throughout the ideas process with an ability to approach problems in a variety of ways.
