Data Platform Architect

Job Description

This role will encompass all aspects of the company?s data platform: ETL process, Data Lake, Analytical Data Warehouse and Business Intelligence. Able to lead data projects and understands business meaning behind technological stack. Will collaborate with a core team of Data Engineers and BI Engineers, Enterprise Architect and other Directors. Will implement architectural standards and frameworks across software, quality assurance and stable platform. Will ensure that new projects and change activities required from the Technology Services (TS) function in relation to new business units are aligned and managed towards Farah?s overall strategy and towards the Digital Technology strategy as well as planned and prioritized in the most efficient manner in order to achieve optimal usage of the technology resources and deliver maximum business benefit. The job scope also include;

• Lead key data architecture decisions across the development organization
• Lead the design of architectural roadmaps, database, data access and data technology architecture
• Provide expertise on the overall data eco-system?s engineering best practices, standards, architectural approaches and complex technical resolutions
• Work with engineering teams (Data, Experience Platform, Critical Applications, Corporate Applications) across the technology organization
• Ensuring that Data projects streams are delivered on-time, within scope and budget
• Coordinating internal resources and vendors for the flawless execution of such projects
• Estimating efforts for Data projects, interacts with Business Analytics and Data Analytics to form requirements and wireframes
• Be able to develop project scope and objectives for respective work streams involving all relevant stakeholders and ensuring technical feasibility are met as per business requirements
• Ensure resource availability and allocation based on internal and external design/dev. team
• Be able to develop a detailed project plan to track progress with milestones, highlight critical path and be drive each work stream towards closure.
• Be able to recommend possible solutions to business as applicable based on the project demand.
• Be able to understand the functional and non-functional ask and participate towards vendor selection and vendor awarding as applicable.

• BS in Computer Science or Engineering
• 8 years? experience in analytical field
• 5 years? experience leading development teams/data projects or data architecture
• Experience leading a very senior team of engineers in developing and implementing industry data solutions
• Knowledge and hands-on expertise in the following technologies: RDBMS, Big Data technologies (Azure DSL preferable), ETL tools (Talend/Azure DF) preferable and Business Intelligence
• Experience building Customer Profiling/Insights solutions
• Expertise building real-time solutions for reporting and operational databases
• Proven experience in data modeling, profiling and database access pattern optimizations
• Experience in Agile/Scrum, DevOps, Confluence
• Strong Project Management skills

• Masters in Science or Engineering
• PMP/Prince 2/Six Sigma or similar
• Azure/Talend/Tableau certifications
• 5 years? experience in owning data platforms architecture
• 3 years? experience in leading data projects/IT related projects
