Role PurposeWe are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Cyto-Screener to join our Laboratory Services team. In this role, you will specialize in the screening and evaluation of cytology specimens to aid in the early detection and diagnosis of diseases. Your expertise will support accurate and timely reporting to guide patient care and treatment plans.RequirementsKey Responsibilities1. Cytology ScreeningScreen and evaluate cytological specimens, including gynecological (Pap smears) and non-gynecological samples, for abnormal cellular changes.Identify and classify malignant, premalignant, and benign conditions based on cytological findings.Experience in ROSE (rapid on site evaluation).Experience in different cytology techniques and staining.2. Microscopic ExaminationPerform microscopic analysis of prepared slides using advanced imaging techniques.Ensure accurate screening by following laboratory protocols and quality assurance measures.3. Reporting and DocumentationPrepare detailed and accurate preliminary reports for pathologist review.Document findings and maintain records in compliance with regulatory standards.4. Quality Assurance and ComplianceAdhere to laboratory quality assurance protocols to ensure diagnostic accuracy.Participate in quality control measures, including rescreening and proficiency testing.Ensure compliance with CBAHI, JCI, CAP, and other accreditation standards.5. Collaboration and CommunicationWork closely with pathologists, laboratory staff, and clinicians to provide timely and accurate results.Maintain effective communication regarding case findings and special requests.Essential QualificationsEducation: Bachelor?s degree in Medical Laboratory Science, Cytotechnology, or related field.Experience: Minimum of 2 years in cytology screening, including gynecological and non-gynecological specimens.Licensing: Valid license from the Saudi Council for Health Specialties.Certification / training in GYN and Non-GYN cytology (ASC certificate of equivalent).Desired QualificationsEducation: Advanced certification in cytotechnology or master?s degree in a related field.Experience: 5+ years of experience with proficiency in liquid-based cytology (e.g., ThinPrep, SurePath) and fine needle aspiration (FNA) cytology.Skills: Familiarity with digital cytology systems and advanced diagnostic tools.Key Competencies and SkillsProficiency in microscopic examination and identification of abnormal cellular patterns.Strong attention to detail and diagnostic accuracy.Effective communication and teamwork skills for collaboration with pathologists and clinicians.Knowledge of laboratory standards and accreditation requirements (CBAHI, JCI, CAP).Commitment to maintaining patient confidentiality and ethical laboratory practices.You will be redirected to the company website to apply for this position.
