Job Description

The Costuming Support Manager is responsible for leading the daily operations of the costuming area of the Entertainment Department. The Costuming Support Manager works with the team as an active participant in achieving artistic goals, ensuring consistent quality, sharing knowledge with the team, leading and supporting production and execution of events/shows while maintaining a positive attitude in the workplace, guaranteeing high standards in the delivery of all offerings and preserving production and execution values across the parks.This is a Support Manager level role.The job scope includes:

  • Plans for the costuming needs for all new and existing productions
  • Manages the costume needs and processes with external vendors
  • Manages the costuming operational and capital planning
  • Oversees the proper storage, organization and maintenance of appropriate inventory levels of all costume pieces
  • Ensures appropriate levels of consumable supplies such as detergent, fabric, dye, thread and related notions
  • Ensures costuming equipment, including washers, dryers, steamers and sewing machines are in working order
  • Sources and maintains relevant contacts within the costuming industry
  • Oversees laundry to ensure all show costumes are clean and ready for operations
  • Adhere to all policies and procedures related to the procurement process
  • Provides management coverage on an as needed basis at entertainment shows/venues
  • Represent the department as manager on duty
  • Mentors and develops colleagues
  • Assists in coaching and counselling matters within the Costuming Department
  • Assists the Head of Creative Costuming in seasonal events, production of costumes, procurement and any other reasonably assigned duties
  • Assists the department with planning and execution of events as needed
  • Actively sources new vendors and works with procurement to ensure all purchases are within budget guidelines
  • Additional duties as reasonably assigned
To be considered for this role, you will need to have: Essential:
  • Higher secondary education or equivalent
  • Minimum of 4 years in theme park or entertainment industry and large-scale productions including events
  • Leadership skills
  • Costume production and operations management
  • Ability to lead procurement and contracting for costumes
  • Communication skills including proficiency in English
  • Computer skills including Word, Excel, PowerPoint.
  • Knowledge of hair/wig care, theatrical make up and prosthetics
Desirable:
  • Bachelor?s degree in theater arts/fashion design
  • 7 years of experience in the entertainment industry and theme park
  • Stage Management; sewing and ability to perform costume repairs
  • Experience with development and operations of IP related costumes
