Job Summary

  • Assists the Commercial Manager/Contract Manager, as required, in the administration of the procurement process including, but not limited to, advance review of construction plans and specifications, assistance in preparation of solicitations, coordinating and scheduling pre-bid and post bid clarification meetings, amendment preparation and contract negotiations for Contract Manager Approval.
  • Drafts commercial terms for design, engineering and/or construction services for approval by the Contracts Manager.
  • Review all contract documents (including solicitation) to ensure congruity and to minimize patent and latent ambiguities.
  • Assists Commercial manager and Project Director, as required, with administration of on-going Contracts, including monitoring contractor and compliance with the Contract documents. Investigates problems and recommends corrective action.
  • Prepares correspondence and maintains records necessary to ensure the effective administration of all Contractual matters.
  • As requested by the Contracts Manager, assist the Engineering representative and or his delegated assistant in contract change negotiations and claim analysis and resolution.
  • Assists in contract close-out procedures to ensure that all terms and conditions of contracts have been complied with prior to final payment to contractor.
  • Prepare for final approval pre-qualification and selection of contractors
  • Prepare for final approval tender negotiations
  • Ensure that all contractual procedures are implemented and maintained
  • Advise on all contractual matters
  • Review and respond to contractors claims in accordance with the provisions of the Conditions of Contract and ensure the Clients interests are protected
  • Ensure all warranties, bonds, insurances, guarantees, etc. are in place and maintained and updated in accordance with the Contract and are in compliance with the Clients requirements
  • Advise on contractual implications of change orders
  • Provide contractual advice in the evaluation of Interim and Final Payment Certificates
  • Prepare Payment Certificates
  • Prepare Recommendations for Release of Retention and Bonds
  • Arrange, attend and lead Contractual Meetings
  • Prepare Monthly Reports
  • Assist in the preparation of Monthly Progress Reports
  • Responsible for the preparation and maintenance of VO, VR and Claim Logs
  • Attend Value Engineering Workshops
  • Must become proficient in the use of Ares PRISM and Live Link software applications
  • May focus on specialised trade or area.
