The Consultant Physician is responsible for leading and supervising the delivery of high-quality evidence-based care; effectively and efficiently diagnosing, managing and treating all patients placed under the post holder?s care. The Consultant Physician is expected to be an example of clinical excellence within his or her specialty and to provide leadership and training for junior medical staff.Responsibilities? Supports, implements, and follows all hospital, departmental and divisional initiatives, policies and procedures? Helps lead and implement the organization?s performance management system, including peer review and the productivity and utilization review processes? Participates in the organization?s performance management system, including peer review and the productivity and utilization review processes? Assists with scheduling and supports the Division Chief in ensuring that adequate medical coverage is provided within the Division at all times? Attends Divisional meetings as required? Assists the Division Chief in the recruitment of new medical staff when appropriate? Assumes other administrative or clinical duties as requested by the Division Chief? Diagnoses and treats patients according to established standards of best practice for the post holder?s specialty. The Consultant Physician?s clinical duties include but are not limited to the following:? Oversees the clinical activities of the junior medical staff and is assumes responsibility for the care they provide? Complies with all established hospital polices regarding admissions, consultations, daily patient care, surgical procedures, discharge protocols, outpatient and follow up practicesQualificationsExperience :- Required:? Tier 1: NLT 2 years relevant experience as a consultant or equivalent post board certification.? Tier 2: NLT 8 years full-time employment as a Consultant or equivalent post-board certification (includes years in fellowship training) in an internationally accredited institute.For UAE Nationals? Clinical Fellowship training following primary specialty board may substitute for experience as follows:- Each year of clinical fellowship is counted as two years of clinical Experience- Only applicable to clinical subspecialtyfellowship in the following countries (Australia, New Zealand, Canada, UK, USA) or HAAD accredited fellowship programsDesired:?
