The Civil Estimator is responsible for preparing accurate and competitive cost estimates for civil engineering construction projects. This role involves analyzing project plans, specifications, and tender documents to determine material, labor, and equipment costs. The Civil Estimator collaborates closely with project managers, engineers, and procurement teams to ensure estimates align with project budgets and client requirements.Key Responsibilities:Review and analyze civil engineering drawings, specifications, and tender documentsPrepare detailed quantity take-offs and cost estimates for materials, labor, equipment, and subcontractorsCoordinate with engineering, procurement, and construction teams to gather necessary dataIdentify potential risks and uncertainties impacting project costsAssist in developing bid proposals and tender submissionsMaintain and update historical cost data and databasesCommunicate with clients, suppliers, and subcontractors for pricing and clarificationsMonitor market trends and pricing fluctuations relevant to civil constructionEnsure compliance with company policies and industry standardsProvide cost analysis and value engineering suggestions to optimize project budgetsQualifications & Experience:Bachelor’s degree or Diploma in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, Quantity Surveying, or related field6–10 years of experience in civil construction estimation or quantity surveyingProficient in estimation software and tools (e.g., AutoCAD, MS Excel, specialized estimation software)Strong understanding of civil construction methods, materials, and costsExcellent analytical, mathematical, and problem-solving skillsEffective communication and negotiation skills
