Chief AccountantJob Location : UAEResponsibilities:•Cash flow statement weekly and monthly.•Cash movement report weekly and monthly.•Monthly consolidation as per the audit & Inhouse Group BRM report.•Work with the Accounts Assistant who carries out purchase ledger tasks for the holding companies.•Understand accounting risks associated with the holding companies and manage them accordingly.•Assist in improving the control environment of the Group, reviewing and updating sections of the Group accounting policies and procedures from time to time.•balance sheet monthly review and reconciliation.•Understand the Group consolidation and be involved in assisting with overseas subsidiaries’ issues to enable timely completion of the Group management accounts.•Review overseas holding company monthly accounts submissions.•Manage the lease database and ensure the overseas companies are accounting for leases in accordance with IFRS16.•Assess the impact of new/changes in accounting standards on the Group.•Take ownership of sections of the Group year end consolidation and prepare the relevant notes/disclosures.•Be part of the internal audit team and conduct 2-3 internal audits per year in subsidiaries worldwide in accordance with the Group Internal Audit Programme.•Report audit findings and making recommendations to strengthen internal controls.•Support with ad hoc projects and requests throughout the year.•Handling the preopening project capex.•Preparation and analysis of Group financial data as required.•Management of holding company recharges.•Preparation of tax work papers for the holding company.Knowledge, Skills, and Experience :•Bachelor’s degree in finance from a reputable university•Minimum 5 years of experience in the similar roles in the industry•Preference will be given to candidates with the Certified Public Accountant or Certified Management Accountant designations or other accounting designations•Knowledgeable of MS Office Applications•Fluent in written and spoken English•Be able to manage a team of a diverse individuals•Good analytic skills•Excellent follow up skills and be able to resolve the issues as they arise•Strong problem-solving skills•Thorough knowledge of applicable accounts payable/receivable, general ledger systems and procedures, financial chart of accounts and corporate finance procedures
