Business Analytics Support Manager

Job Description

In the role of the Business Analytics Support Manager, you will have the opportunity to touch every aspect of our business, driving data analysis and insights to help develop a wide range of high priority projects. The core of your role in the Business Analytics team will involve designing, developing and enhancing our Data and BI platform and to facilitate decision making across all Farah assets:

• CLYMB Abu Dhabi
• Qasr Al Watan
• SeaWorld Abu Dhabi
• Saraya Aqaba Water Park, Jordan

• Develop a strong understanding of data flow through the various transactional systems in Farah (e.g., Ticketing, Retail, F&B and ERP etc)
• Liaise with different business functions such as Finance, Marketing, Sales, Operations etc. to identify and address their data needs and reporting requirements
• Understand business requirements and actively provide inputs to the technical team from a data perspective
• Work with the centralized product and data engineering team to define & implement data requirements
• Become a subject matter expert for all revenue and customer related data and act as an analytics resource for other teams.
• Optimize & automate dashboards and reports to serve day-to-day data and analytics requests
• Responsible for continuously monitoring the quality and outcome of BI reports against user requirements and ensure consistency.
• Assess the effectiveness and accuracy of new data sources and data gathering techniques
• Play a critical role in defining the data sources, data types and feeds required to ensure each BI Report is relevant and accurate.
• Act as the point of contact for understanding and documenting business & technical requirements for every business intelligence related engagement.
• Support the BI self-service and roll out to the organisation by enabling and supporting super users of BI platform within the different business units.
• Reporting and escalation of issues relating to the Data platform
• Contribute and Participate in UAT

• Bachelor?s degree in Computer Science/Engineering, Operations Research, applied statistics or mathematics or any relevant field or equivalent work experience accepted
• 3+ years of demonstrated experience working in an analytical role (preferably in revenue, FP&A or Reporting & Analytics role)
• 3+ years of demonstrated experience with business intelligence and visualization tools creating management dashboards
• 3+ years of experience with IT Systems Understanding along with experience in Data and analytics
• 2+ years of hands-on experience analyzing and interpreting data, drawing conclusions, defining recommended actions, and reporting results across stakeholders
• Should possess excellent communication and presentation skills; be comfortable interacting with executive-level management
• An intermediate level of SQL programming knowledge is a must (JOINs, aggregations, subqueries, etc.)
• Demonstrable work experience as a Data Analyst or Business Data Analyst
• Ability to understand varied business domains coupled with technical expertise in analysing data
• Fluency with visualization tools (Tableau, Power BI, Looker etc.) - ability to create interactive, user-friendly and compelling dashboards and reports.
• Experience in Data profiling & discovery, Data Quality Management, Data Analysis, Master Data Management.
• Experience in reviewing and evaluating technical and functional specifications for the data platform
• Comfortable analysing in Excel, including manipulating data and visualization
• Ability to effectively manage competing priorities in a complex work environment, focusing on high value activities.

• Strong interpersonal skills with demonstrable verbal and written communications to maintain effective work relationships with all levels of personnel

• Master?s degree in Computer Science/Engineering or Master of Business Administration would be beneficial
• Financial and Statistical analysis experience
• 2+ years of experience working in a similar role in Leisure, Tourism or Hospitality, industry
• Strong knowledge and experience in data modelling and Data warehouse
• Financial / Revenue Reporting experience in a medium or large enterprise
• Experience in project management
• Experience with Python or similar data programming language a plus
• Knowledge and experience with advanced segmentation analysis, machine Learning principles
• Knowledge of SQL and one or more of these DB?s - Oracle, MySQL, Teradata, Snowflake
• Knowledge of SDLC, data engineering, data modeling, data warehousing and big data platforms
• Deep understanding of structuring and querying data using tools viz. SQL, Python, Pandas
• Experience in working with Agile methodology or equivalent waterfall methodologies
• Experience using continuous improvement and project management methodologies (e.g. Lean Six Sigma, TQM, PMP? or similar)
• Experience with Data Governance Tools such as Alation, Collibra, Informatica, etc.
