Associate Director, Group Islamic TB & Lending Products - (2200023075)Job: Institutional BankingPrimary Location: Africa & Middle East-United Arab Emirates-DubaiSchedule: Full-timeEmployee Status: PermanentPosting Date: 07/Sep/2022, 2:19:42 PMUnposting Date: 13/Sep/2022, 10:59:00 PM ResponsibilitiesThe incumbent is responsible for product development, product management, training, documentation and system requirements for Islamic TB and Lending products offered across the group.StrategyWork with Head Islamic Corporate Products to achieve Global Islamic Banking strategy, aligning with Group?s product innovation agenda and product strategy of the relevant businesses and geographies.Business

• Manage the development and launch of new products in close liaison with business and support functions such as Legal, Compliance, Operations, Risk and IT, etc.
• Responsible for Shariah structuring and approval of TB and Lending products.
• Relationship building with front and support departments to get a complete understanding of the systems related to product development
• Participate in activities related to product management with the help of relevant counterparts across various geographic regions.
• Draft product process and procedures and understand the system and processes for a product to ensure that a product launch is smooth and successful
• Coordination with Shariah on product development and general matters relating to business.
• Maintain Market intelligence on different markets where Islamic products are offered
• Key participant for global application to ensure successful product sales and delivery of Islamic Products.
• Team player with ability to take initiative and demonstrate assertiveness.
• Extensive awareness of and familiarity with the target market for Shariah-compliance products.
• Ability to deal with all levels of people in the project development and launch phase and deliver multiple tasks involved in multiple product development projects.
• Demonstrate good networking skills as he/she will need to develop strong relationships with the relevant product areas and reporting lines within the bank and where appropriate with the target client base.
• Good knowledge of banking processes, IT, and policies to ensure a viable product launch.
• High level awareness of and familiarity with the target market for Shariah-compliant products.

Processes

• Ensure appropriate development of Islamic processes as per the group guidelines
• Direct participation in standardization exercise of DOI?s and legal documentation across Saadiq markets

• Lead through example and should try to build the appropriate culture and values. Set appropriate tone and expectations for the team and work in collaboration with risk and control partners.
• To be the part of the team providing the ongoing training and development of people, and ensure that holders of all critical functions are suitably skilled and qualified for their roles ensuring that they have effective supervision in place to mitigate any risks.

Risk ManagementEnsure a full understanding of the risk and control environment for the areas of responsibility.Governance

• Responsible for processes related to TB and Lending products under the ERMF.
• Build relationships with business/operation partners to manage operational processes.
• Support Islamic Banking COO to design and implement controls related to TB and Lending products.
• Zero tolerance on Shariah appropriateness and sustainability issues.
• Responsible for delivering ?effective governance?; capability to challenge fellow executives effectively; and willingness to work with any local regulators in an open and cooperative manner.

Regulatory & Business Conduct

• Display exemplary conduct and live by the Group?s Values and Code of Conduct.
• Take personal responsibility for embedding the highest standards of ethics, including regulatory and business conduct, across Standard Chartered Bank. • Effectively and collaboratively identify, escalate, mitigate and resolve risk, conduct and compliance matters.
• Liaise with countries to ensure all regulatory issues are proactively managed

Qualifications

• Academic or Professional Education/Qualifications: Masters in Business Administration
• Licenses and Certifications/accreditations: PGD ? Islamic Banking or relevant Islamic Finance certification.
• Bank training: completed trainings related to Islamic banking, conduct, governance, compliance etc
