Job Description

Control Risks supports private equity and credit, infrastructure and real assets, real estate, sovereign wealth, and development and multilateral funds, with a range of services. These services include transaction-specific diligence, which can encompass financial crime, reputation and performance, ESG factors, and cyber risks associated with an investment target and its management; sector- or country-specific political and policy considerations; and broader risk management services to our client?s portfolio companies and assets.This role is responsible for defining our strategy towards and leading our engagement with government and private market investors in the Middle East.The title will depend on the successful candidate?s experience. The position?s core responsibilities are:- Managing relationships and engagements with existing clients, including providing strategic advice to investment teams on transaction risks and how to address them.- Identifying and acquiring new clients.- Developing and innovating our services to meet our clients? requirements and changing market conditions.- Identifying the skills and capabilities needed to expand our services to investor clients.The successful candidate would join an established business intelligence and due diligence team, with over 60 team members in 10 cities across the EMEA region. The team is growing due to the diversification of our client base by both the type or organisation and their geographical location. This role will play a leading role in our growth.Role tasks and responsibilities:Client management and business development:

  • Develop and drive our go-to-market strategy for private market clients.
  • Develop our relationships with industry associations and other professional advisors, such as law firms, and evaluate the best events and networks to engage to raise awareness of our
  • Closely manage existing private markets clients and acquire new clients in Abu Dhabi and the broader Middle East region that are regular consumers of transaction due diligence and business intelligence.
  • Develop and maintain a profile in the industry as an expert in your field.
Case and project work:
  • Lead transaction-specific diligence projects, which can encompass financial crime, reputation and performance, ESG factors, and cyber risks associated with an investment target and its management; sector- or country-specific political and policy considerations; and broader risk management services to our client?s portfolio companies and assets.
  • Ensure proposals focus on our clients? requirements and our ability to meet them, and that our proposals stay ahead of the market by incorporating clients? feedback and service innovation.
  • Lead more complicated strategic and business intelligence projects in MENA, and multi-jurisdictional projects that stretch outside MENA, with other senior colleagues.
Leadership and business management:
  • Day-to-day management responsibilities for UAE-based team members of the Business Intelligence team.
  • Coaching and guidance to the Business Intelligence team in order to drive high-performance.
Working culture:
  • Foster an inclusive, collaborative environment.
  • Ensure that pricing, margins and value are understood in the team to ensure we capture lower and higher margin opportunities.
  • Ensure that the team?s legal and compliance requirements are understood and adhered to, including the implementation of associated training.
