Job Description

Assistnat Manager- EngineeringThe assistant manager will be responsible for the daily operation of the Engineering department within the Hotel.What is in it for you:

  • What you will be doing:
  • To assist The chief engineerin all matters related to the implementation of an effective budget control.
  • To assistin every aspect of the operation as requested
  • To supervise technicians and contractorsfor performance, quality of workmanship and attendance at work
  • To prepare weekly work schedules in accordance with work load and priorities.
  • Ensure Engineering store is correctly maintained and par stock levels maintained.
  • Follows Occupational Health & Safety regulations.
  • To check wastage and ensure optimum usage of material in the operation.
  • Ensures adherence to Fairmont?s Code of Ethics brand.
  • Ensure proper measures are taken to adhere to all Municipality Codes & Regulations and compliance to mandatory environmental regulation as specified by the local governing agency
  • Assist with the implementation of energy management systems to minimise wastage and costs.
  • Ensure compliance with legislated health and safety requirements within the workplace.
  • Supervise and control the Maintenance Request System.
  • Assist with the general cost control aspects of maintenance.
  • Carry out regular inspections of plant and equipment and ensure that inspections are conducted and documented.
  • Carry out general room inspections and preventative maintenance inspections.
  • Your experience and skills include:
  • Proficient in the English language (verbal & written), second language is an asset
  • Previous experience as an a similar role is required
  • Minimum one year Engineering Trade Course certificate
  • Minimum one year Industrial Training Institute pass certificate in respective trade
  • 3 years hands-on experience working in respective trade.
  • Previous Hotel experience an asset
  • Experience Working in the UAE is an asset
  • Must be flexible in terms of working hours
  • A self-starter, take initiative, can make decisions in fast-paced, changing environment
  • Computer literacy in Windows, MS Office Suite, and Fidelio PMS systems is recommended
