Job Description

Support the Electrical Maintenance Manager in Overseeing and ensuring that all Plant Electrical facilities are maintained and operated within the design criteria and oversee the management of the Nuclear Steam Supply Systems (NSSS and Balance of Plant (BOP) and Long Term Maintenance Strategies (L TMS) contractors to ensure activities are performed per regulatory requirements, nuclear standards for nuclear safety, industrial safety, and environmental protection.1- Line Management Delegation

  • Carry out designated responsibilities of the Line Manager on a business needs basis, with the ultimate accountability residing with the Line Manager. ? Assume responsibilities, where required, based on the Delegation of Work (DOW} and/or Delegation of Authority (DOA) to ensure the commensuration of the authorities required to satisfactorily complete those requirements. ? Ensure mutual agreement on the designated responsibilities allocated by the Line Manager prior to the commencement date.
2- Electrical Maintenance
  • Provide oversight on Electrical NSSS and BOP throughout the planning, execution and post close-out phases of maintenance activities to ensure that all applicable standards are adhered to. ? Assist in overseeing periodic and surveillance tests to ensure requirements for plant mechanical systems are met. ? Assist in overseeing continuing training for equipment important to safety and reliability to ensure staff is properly trained and qualified in the use of equipment during mechanical maintenance activities. ? Manage all technical administrative activities of the Electrical area to ensure organizational excellence. ? Review procurement of critical spare parts to ensure Electrical maintenance activities are adequately resourced. ? Review and initiate Standard Work Plan for equipment important to safety and reliability to ensure compliance with plant safety policies and procedures. ? Prepare and plan for outages to ensure plant downtime is minimized. ? Assist in managing electrical maintenance Corrective Action Program requirements to ensure compliance with maintenance standards. ? Ensure that the supplemental workers are familiar and compliant with the Conduct of Maintenance to ensure an effective maintenance program. ? Prepare for World Association of Nuclear Operators (WANO), Institute of Nuclear Power Operations (INPO}, and International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) peer review to ensure alignment to industry and regulatory best practices.
3-?Staff Training and Qualification
  • Develop management expectations and communicate with department to ensure high level of safety and reliability of plant systems. ? Monitor and consult to improve staff performance. ? Evaluate performance of individual staff to develop necessary training. ? Verify training programs provide necessary technical knowledge and skills to ensure staff are properly trained and qualified to conduct assigned maintenance responsibilities. ? Provide training feedback on program effectiveness with evaluation of performance to ensure quality of training and qualification program.
4-?Outage and Emergency Response Organization (ERO) Support
  • Support outage and/or the ERO, as assigned, to ensure safe, reliable and continued operations; this may require shift work/off hours support.
5-?Operational Planning
  • Provide input into the development of the Divisions systems, processes and procedures, as well develop and implement the Departments systems and processes, identifying potential areas of improvement to ensure efficient, effective, safe and risk-free operations as well as compliance with corporate and regulatory requirements. ?
