Job Title: Assistant/Associate Professor in Interior Design Posted Yesterday Job Summary:The Department of Architecture at the American University of Ras Al Khaimah invites applications for an Assistant/Associate Professor position in Interior Design program to begin August 2022. Candidates are expected to have a Ph.D. or Master?s Degree in Interior Design, professional and teaching experience. Ph.D./Master in Interior Design candidates must have specialization in Interior Design communication media, lighting design media and design for wellbeing. The successful candidate will be expected to be active in research in his/her fields of interests, incorporate high-impact educational practices in teaching, advise undergraduate students, and provide service to the department, university, and community. Applicants must submit also a cover letter where extent of experience with NAAB, CIDA or other accrediting bodies must be indicated. Primary Responsibilities Include:

  • Teaching Interior Design and Architecture courses
  • Participation in departmental, school, and university committeesand activities
  • Advising and mentoring students
  • Participation in outreach activities, such as continuing education workshops, conferences and seminars
  • Involvement in research activities within the department
Required Qualifications:
  • Candidate must hold a Ph. D. or Master?s Degree in Interior Design from an accredited institution of higher education
  • University teaching experience
  • Professional Interior Design experience
  • Effective communication skills
  • Commitment to excellence in scholarly activities and teaching, including the use of high-impact educational practices
  • Interest and experience in working effectively with a diverse student population
  • Ability and willingness to work collaboratively with faculty from a variety of disciplines
