We welcome candidates whose teaching promotes student success and meaningful attainment, and whose service is undertaken to promote their citizenship in the School and University.Primary Duties and Responsibilities: This part-time, adjunct teaching position will consist of teaching two lower-division, English composition classes. Candidates are expected to have professional teaching experience at the tertiary level, particularly in teaching college-level writing. The teaching load will be 6-credit hours at the undergraduate level. Candidates must be prepared to promote active learning by students through the use of high-impact educational practices suitable for undergraduate level instruction.Minimum Qualifications: A Master?s degree in Teaching English as a Foreign Language, or closely related field, and relevant teaching experience with evidence of use of high-impact educational practices.Preferred Qualifications: Beyond the minimum qualifications, an ideal candidate would have (1) an extended professional background in teaching English writing; (2) a history of working effectively with globally diverse student populations; and (3) demonstrated professional experience in working as a cohesive member of a team.Description of AURAK: The American University of Ras Al Khaimah (AURAK) is a public non-profit, independent, coeducation institution of higher education which delivers an integrated American-style, undergraduate and graduate education with a strong focus on the local indigenous culture.
