Role Summary:We’re looking for a reliable Accountant to join a busy retail finance team in Dubai. The role involves day-to-day ledger maintenance, month-end close tasks, VAT compliance, and supporting management with timely financial reports and analysis. This is a hands-on position best suited to someone who’s comfortable in a fast-paced retail environment and familiar with UAE accounting practices.Key Responsibilities:• Manage daily accounting operations including accounts payable, accounts receivable, the general ledger, and bank reconciliations.• Prepare monthly, quarterly and annual financial reports that provide clear insight for management decisions.• Maintain accurate financial records in line with company policy and UAE regulatory requirements.• Support budgeting, forecasting and cost control activities to help the business hit its financial targets.• Handle VAT filings and ensure tax compliance, preparing schedules and supporting documentation as required.• Assist with internal and external audits, providing schedules and explanations when requested.• Process payroll on time and accurately, and support any payroll reconciliations or queries.Candidate Requirements:• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or a related discipline.• At least 3 years’ accounting experience in the UAE; retail sector experience is an advantage.• Thorough knowledge of accounting principles, UAE VAT rules and experience with ERP/accounting software.• Strong Excel skills and familiarity with other MS Office tools.• High attention to detail, good organisational skills and the ability to deliver to deadlines.
