Job Description

The Employee Welfare Officer is responsible for developing and implementing welfare programs tailored to hourly craft employees, organizing recreational activities, health and wellness programs, and social events in the yard and camp. They ensure the availability of necessary facilities and amenities, oversee living conditions, and address grievances regarding camp and work conditions. The Officer manages budgets for welfare activities, plans and sustains craft events, and evaluates their success. They provide counseling and support, promote health and safety awareness, and collaborate with clinics and HR/benefits teams to offer mental and physical health support. Maintaining open communication channels, they prepare reports on welfare activities and employee feedback, ensuring integrated welfare support across departments.Responsibilities:Key Tasks and Responsibilities:Inspect all camp facilities regularly and report any issues to the relevant personnelConduct and participate in briefings for new hire employees, ensuring compliance with HSE (Health, Safety, and Environment), food hygiene, and safety regulationsHandle first aid duties and promptly inform the doctor in case of emergencies, ensuring 24/7 availabilityManage transportation from the camp to different work sites as requiredAllocate rooms for new employees and maintain accurate records of all employees staying in the accommodationMonitor and communicate employee absenteeism based on department admin emailsCoordinate and supervise maintenance and repairs of camp facilities, including painting, plumbing, carpentry, cleaning, electrical work, and other related dutiesPrepare timesheets and provide weekly camp occupancy reports to the managerLiaise with the HR department to relay messages and ensure effective communication with employeesNotify security and HR departments about any violations of camp rules and regulations, including fighting or misconductRequest camp materials such as mattresses, bed sheets, pillows, steel bunk beds, etc., as neededConduct safety drills in the camp by the drill plan (fire, emergency evacuation, electrocution, emergency disaster, etc.)Maintain and update the Camp HSES Activity Plan with the coordination of the Camp Safety Advisor, Camp Maintenance, and Catering Team, which could include Training, Publicity, Notice Board and Signboard, Fire Prevention and Fire Safety, Audits, Inspections, Assessments, and MeetingsPrepare and submit time sheets for the camp staff as per payroll cut-off datesCoordinate with service providers (Security, Clinic, Catering, etc.) to ensure that the requested services are provided in an appropriate and safe mannerRaise purchase requisitions through company-provided applications (Oracle database, SPMAT, etc.) for camp maintenance materials and all other 3rd-party services related to the campReceive materials and maintain the material-receiving logFile all camp-related documents, such as reports, drawings, and delivery notesCoordinate with the Supply Chain Management team for RFQs, PO issuances, Material deliveries, Service agreement renewals, and other 3rd party services required for campManage petty cashAssist camp occupants with printing and scanning documents, maintain TV channel server room, and support Wi-Fi internet-related issues as neededComplete camp environmental activities, including planting trees, recycling plastic and food waste, and water irrigationCoordinate with the Supply Chain Management team for RFQs, PO issuances, Material deliveries, Service agreement renewals, and any other 3rd party services required for the campPartner with the Accounting department to prepare the camp budgetPrepare the scope of work for requested support services such as Catering, Medical, and SecurityQualifications:Essential Qualifications and Education:High School Diploma8+ years of relevant experience Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities effectivelyExcellent communication and interpersonal skillsKnowledge of HSE regulations and food hygiene standardsFirst aid certification is preferredAbility to work under pressure and handle emergencies with calmness and efficiencyProficiency in basic computer applicationsLevel-2 Award in Food Safety in CateringContractor Camp Inspector Training Certificate
