This includes families who require emergency assistance when affected by conflict and displacement and also those who need help to improve their nutrition and food security. WFP supports children across Syria with healthy meals and snacks at school, mothers with nutritious diets, and families and communities with sustainable livelihood projects.BACKGROUND AND PURPOSE OF THE ASSIGNMENT:The Programme assistant will work in the field office under the direct supervision of the national programme officer and overall supervision of the head of the field office, with technical support from different units in Damascus.The programme assistant will work in close collaboration with other functional areas in the field officeKEY ACCOUNTABILITIES (not all-inclusive)Partnership:?In charge of the whole FLA (Flied Level Agreements) between WFP and the different partners under the area of operation?Review, develop and enhance partners proposals.?Coordinate the approval process of the FLA?Track and Process payment claims of cooperating partners (CPs).?Provide guidance, training, and oversight to CPs.?Work and exchange information with internal counterparts to support effective collaboration and implementation.?Support communication and activities with local partners, agencies, NGOs and government institutions.GFA:?Preparing all needed FRNs for GFA on COMET and control the GFA beneficiaries and distribution data.?Follow up with CPs the implementation of the programme.?Follow standard emergency preparedness practices to ensure WFP is able to quickly respond and deploy needed resources to affected areas at the onset of the crisis.?Act as a point of contact for resolution of general operational queries requesting assistance where necessary.VAM:?Perform accurate, timely recording of data within the specific technical area of work (e.g., food security and vulnerability assessments) following corporate standards and guidelines.?Within the specific area of responsibility, compile data and support analysis and preparation of reports (e.g., food assistance needs, resource utilization, programme status, performance) to support operational decision-making.?Coordinate continuous data collection from different sources related to food security and market assessments.?Conduct ad hoc assessments if needed.Perform other duties, as required by the direct supervisor.
