Job Description

Employment: Full Time Operate Forklift to load and unload materials and deliveries and move them to and from storage areas, machines and loading docks, into railroad cars or trucks or storage facilities.Essential duties and responsibilitiesObtains copy of production schedule or shipping order and transports material or equipment to and from designated areas in the facilityLoading and unloading goods from vehicles such as trucks or aircraftMoving goods packed on pallets or in crates around the storage facilityStacking goods in the correct storage bays, following inventory control instructionsChecking loads are secureStacking empty palletsRemoving machine attachments and waste material from machinesExamining products to verify conformance to quality standardsDumping materials into machine hoppersQualification requirementsHigh School diploma or equivalentGood math, language and reading skills; basic computer skills may be requiredHigh degree of attention required to prevent injury to others; promote a safe work environment REQUIREMENTS: Follow instructions for operating equipment and keeping recordsExecute assignments in an accurate, timely and safe mannerMaintain a clean & safe environmentClean driving record and a valid state motor vehicle operators license requiredForklift certification per OSHA standardsPhysical demands and abilitiesRegularly sitting on a powered industrial truckFrequently lift up to 50 pounds and adjust body position to bend, stoop, stand, walk, turn, pivot, and stand for long periods of timeHaving a good sense of balanceHaving good eye-hand-foot coordinationAbility to assess weights and judge distances and heightsAbility to work in varying temperatures, depending upon season
