We are looking for a Urea Technologist to initiate, propose, and execute research and development, debottlenecking/revamp, energy saving, as well as sustainability improvement programs directed towards the improvement of processes and commercial technologies. The Scientist/Engineer should also lead in-house new process technology development, scale ups and implementations in commercial plants. The ideal candidate should also be able to provide technology support to commercial plants for the shutdown, turnover, and re-commissioning as needed, troubleshooting and root cause analysis, as well as to drive problem resolution for commercial plants. The technologist is also expected to provide support in growth projects.Responsibilities : Troubleshooting and root cause analysis support, and drive problem resolution for commercial plants. Development of plant-wide model in Aspen Plus or like, and guide the plant improvements/performance. Participate in in-house new process technology development, scale up and implementations in a commercial plant. Carry out energy and mass balance calculations, energy optimization/pinch studies, pump hydraulics calculations, heat exchanger design and calculations, various catalyst performances evaluations, feasibility studies and revamp studies. Independently review engineering documents and steer. Design and supervise pilot plant experimental runs for the assigned tasks including preliminary reviews, data interpretation and final reporting. Collect and interpret plant process data, make recommendations for improvements, ensure work is standardized and processes are optimized.
