Job Description

Job Purpose:The Lead Engineer Reliability is responsible and accountable for formulating, planning, developing, implementing and monitoring Reliability centred maintenance (RCM), Risk based inspection (RBI), Reliability Instrumented Systems (RIS) and Root cause analysis (RCA) through Experienced and qualified engineers. Develop strategies for problem solving through all MPC as part of the Reliability Performance Department activity with the objective of achieving safe and reliable plants that leads to cost control, customer satisfaction, and superior quality. The primary role of the Superintendent Reliability Strategy is to lead Team of reliability engineers and administer & support the RCM effort from a management standpoint. Provide high quality problem solving consultancy services and drive training and knowledge sharing between all MPC plants to enhance employees knowledge and skills about RCM. RBI, RIS & RCA methodology and problem solving culture change that will positively impact MPC safety & reliability performance.Key Accountabilities:

  • The Lead Engineer Reliability will head the Reliability Strategy section and will report to Manager, Reliability Performance department. He shall delegate the parts of the work to the Sr. Engineers and other staff as per the organization chart.
  • Ensure implementation of the Reliability tools and techniques (RCM, RCA, RIS, RBI, FMEA, LTA etc.) as per Reliability Procedures and applicable Sub Procedures).
  • Identify and select applicable KPIs for reliability measurement. If required, request Planning department for making additional KPIs giving details and justification.
  • Prepare annual statistics reports based on actual investigations findings,analyze the common causes between them and develop short and long term plans for elimination. Prepare a proactive plan to identify and prevent potential system and human problems.
  • As a team leader, to act as Facilitator, listening to all members and using owns knowledge and competence to draw correct inferences and put forth fault tree analysis, fish bone diagrams and guide members.
  • Take actions to inculcate the culture of Reliability among all levels of staff in all concerned departments. Suitable methods and training to be devised and used for this purpose.
Minimum Qualifications:Bachelors degree in engineering, preferably in Chemical, Process, or Mechanical EngineeringMinimum Experience:Min 7 years of experience in implementing RCM, RBI, RIS and RCA strategies of Process plant equipment and recording
