Oversee the supply chain function to ensure business plans are met and profitability is improved.Responsibilities:Supply PlanningExecute planning activities for significant/large number of manufacturing/ distribution units in a complex supply chain, including other processes/units/ suppliers, and contribute strongly to the development of the overall supply chain planning framework and system.Supplier ManagementMonitor, review, and highlight any gaps in the performance of a portfolio of major suppliers to recommend and ensure delivery of improvements by suppliers or to renegotiate or change contract/supplier.Contract ManagementManage the delivery of a major part of the organizations contract management program while taking personal responsibility for a limited number of mission critical contracts.Operations ManagementManage a significant operational area for the organization.SourcingCollect and analyze the key cost drivers, market dynamics and issues, areas of innovation, and alternative suppliers for business-critical risk area(s) with few alternatives/high costs of changing, in consultation with relevant functions to provide solid market information for decision making.Functional Strategy FormationLead the development and implementation of strategy for an important area of responsibility within a function, anticipating complex issues, challenges, and opportunities, and ensuring integration with wider functional strategy.Leadership and DirectionCommunicate the actions needed to implement the functions strategy and business plan within the team; explain the relationship to the broader organizations mission, vision and values; motivate people to commit to these and to doing extraordinary things to achieve local business goals.BudgetingDevelop and/or deliver budget plans with guidance from senior colleagues. Continuous Improvement Review existing operations in a major area of work and implement innovation processes to generate new ideas and ensure the required continuous improvement outcomes are delivered.Performance ManagementManage and report on the performance of a substantial, diverse team; set appropriate performance objectives for direct reports or project / account team members and hold them accountable for achieving these; take appropriate corrective action where necessary to ensure the achievement of team / personal objectives.Stakeholder EngagementDevelop stakeholder engagement through identifying stakeholders, finding out their needs/issues/concerns and reacting to these to support the communication of business information and decisions.Organizational Capability BuildingUse the organizations formal development framework to identify the teams individual development needs. Plan and implement actions, including continuing professional development specified by professional or regulatory institutions, to build their professional capabilities. Provide informal training or coaching to others throughout the organization in own area of expertise to enable others to improve performance and fulfill personal potential.Experience:General ExperienceSubstantial general work experience together with comprehensive job related experience in own area of expertise to fully competent level. (Over 6 years to 10 years)Managerial ExperienceExperience of planning and managing resources to deliver predetermined objectives as specified by more senior managers (Over 3 years to 6 years)
