Job Description

Duties and responsibilities:The Program Policy Officer / Livelihoods will work under the direct supervision of the Head of the SNL Unit. The key responsibilities include, but are not limited to, contributing towards the development of safety nets and livelihoods projects, plans and processes ensuring alignment with wider programme policies and guidance.In particular, the Program Policy Officer / Livelihoods will:

  • Provide project management support in formulation and implementation of early recovery and livelihoods projects.
  • Ensure a coordinated approach with wider programmes that comply with WFP standards and procedures.
  • Develop and coordinate data gathering and monitoring systems ensuring that rigorous quality standards are maintained.
  • Support the identification, development and management of potential partnerships to collaborative working, leading to improved food assistance packages.
  • Oversee the formulation of partnership agreements (Field Level Agreements; FLAs)
  • Contribute to the preparation of accurate and timely reporting on programmes and activities that enable informed decision making and consistency of information presented to stakeholders.
  • Oversee budgets and disbursement of funds.
  • Liaise with internal and external partners to ensure effective collaboration, monitor ongoing projects and highlight potential risks to project delivery.
  • Respond to queries from various stakeholders such as Regional Bureau, WFP HQs and donors. Prepare concise narrative and financial reports as required.
  • Represent WFP?s interests at various national and international fora as required.
