Job Description

ORGANIZATIONAL CONTEXTThis?job?is?found in WFP Yemen Country Office.?Job holder?report to a Logistics Officer, Head of Unit or the designate.At this level, job holder?demonstrate responsibility and initiative to respond independently to queries with only general guidance for all assistance modalities for both WFP and logistics common services. There is a requirement to use judgment in dealing with unforeseen problems on a daily basis. Job holder?typically manage a small team, supervising and coaching staff.JOB PURPOSETo provide specialized support on the food quality and safety related activities to ensure provision of safe food for WFP beneficiaries.KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES (not all-inclusive)

  • Review the quality inspection reports of WFP food commodities production. Ensure their conformance with WFP scope of work.
  • Review the food commodities analysis reports produced by the inspection companies
  • Liaise between the inspection companies and the food suppliers to ensure effective communication of production and inspection plans
  • Visit WFP warehouses to conduct quality inspection of the facilities and commodities during storage for GWPs assurance.
  • Ensure the effective communication of WFP Food Specification with all concerned stakeholders (WFP units, Suppliers, Inspection Companies, Local Authorities)
  • Prepare summary reports of the results of food compliance testing in a form of descriptive graphs and charts
  • Visit suppliers? facilities to inspect the production lines, warehouses and staff facilities in order to ensure effective implementation of GMPs, GWPs, GHPs, and HACCP.
  • Train WFP staff in warehouses and distribution points on the effective implementation of GWPs and the basics of Food Safety
  • Accompany the 3rd party auditors on field audits, inspections, and quality monitoring and prepare summary reports on the visits? outcome
  • Evaluate the performance of the suppliers and inspection companies on quarterly basis
  • Conduct regular surveys to evaluate the level of satisfaction of the beneficiaries in terms of food safety and quality
  • Complete the incident tracker sheet with all the relevant incident data.
  • Ensure reporting any food incident through the WFP digital port.
